Penn Central Car Movements #111 Part 3 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

  Greetings All,

Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #111

Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad continues today with the dispatch of our outbound trains.

The action starts in Terminal Yard with Big Mike and Kar Knocker getting the MR-2 / BT-28 freight cars inspected, sorted and blocked for their next movements.
The PCCM and non PCCM traffic gets sorted.
Over at the engine terminal PC NW2 8807 is making its PCCM debut pulling out PC depressed flatcar 766053 loaded with an EMD 567 prime mover going to the KP&W Williams Yard.
The 8807 delivers the PC depressed center flatcar with the EMD prime mover to Terminal Yard and heads back to the shop with two empty PC gondolas.
The 8807 delivers PC gondolas 576104 and 576123 to the shop for their next PCCM loads of scrap metal.
Next we check in with the B&O crew at 16th Street Yard.
The 16th Street Transfer heads to Terminal Yard.
The B&O crew shoves an NYC boxcar into track 3 which is holding freight cars going to the APRR Rock Ridge Yard.
TP&W RBLs are coupled up to the PCCM cars going to the APRR.
The H16-44s depart Terminal Yard for the Pier 16 Grain Silos.
The crew has coupled up to a string of Penn Central, Empire Belt and Atlantic Pacific covered hoppers loaded with grain for the Cargill Plant in Rock Ridge NJ.
The covered hoppers are brought to Terminal Yard.
The B&O has finished its work and heads back to 16th Street Yard.
Big Mike is back on duty running the yard job and confers with the Terminal Yard Trainmaster.
The Yard Job starts with a long colorful string of freight cars that will be heading to Rock Ridge Yard via Selkirk and Weehawken via Train SK-7 to Selkirk. The Hi Cube boxcars are loaded with appliances from Speed Queen for PC Richard in Rock Ridge, NJ.
The SK-7 consist is set on departure track 8E and Kar Knocker is out to connect the air hoses and inspect the train.
Big Mike is back in the yard working on the PCCM cars going to the Kings Port Division in Train SK-5.
Another colorful set of PCCM freight cars are shoved towards the SK-5 consist waiting on departure track 8A. The B&M and LV cars will be heading to Merrimack, NH and Binghamton, NY respectively for their next PCCM loads.
A short time later the SK-5 freight consist is all set to go and the power has coupled on.
Train SK-5 departs Terminal Yard.
Next stop Selkirk.
About 30 minutes later Train SK-7 is ready for departure.
Train SK-7 departs Terminal Yard.
Next stop Selkirk!!!!
This wraps up the outbound portion of PCCM 111 on the NYCTL.  Be sure to catch all the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for watching!!!
See you Friday!!!

The new PCRRHS NW-2 made a fine debut smoothly running the prime mover over to Terminal Yard and returning to the engine shop with the gondolas. Nice new acquisition! Another cool B& 16th St. transfer run with the string of covered hoppers! While the Penn Central's locomotive roster was "dipped black", colorful freight cars from various companies made up for it in today's manifests, creating interesting and eye pleasing trains! Its going to be busy at Selkirk soon! Looking forward to the inbound portions of the series next week!

There’s a lot of freight coming to the APRR and the crews are ready at Rock Ridge Yard & Rock Ridge East Yard for the inbound freight.
