Greetings All,
Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #95!!!
Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad concludes today with our final deliveries and an interchange with the LIRR.
We open our closing installment at North Side Yard in Empire City NY with the EBRR trainmen going over today's work plans. Senior engineer Sir Neal will be running the Belt Job that will service the Empire City industries and PC Ralph will be working the yard.
Senior engineer Sir Neal brings the Belt Job onto the Belt Line as conductor John mans the switch.
The Belt Job makes its move.
The Belt Job starts its switch work at Gervais Pipe & Fitting coupling up to a trio of APRR gondolas loaded with pipe for Shapeless Steel in Rock Ridge NJ.
With the siding clear the Belt Job works Ralph's Grocery Warehouse and spots APRR boxcars #58260, #58279 and TP&W #70126 loaded with packaged foods from C&P Restaurant Supply in Rock Ridge NJ along with P&LE boxcar #35892 loaded with bagged flour from Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port NY.
Back at Gervais Pipe empty Empire Belt RR gondolas get spotted for their next PCCM loads.
The Belt Job is now working midtown and pulls a pair of boxcars from Neal's Lumber & Hardware as PC Ralph protects the move.
A NYC Early Bird boxcar loaded with bagged cement from Boom's Ready Mix in West Mill NY is spotted at Neal's Lumber & Hardware.
Next stop is Empire Produce to spot Lehigh Valley 50' reefer #7120 loaded with assorted produce from Tarantino Foods in Buffalo NY.
The Belt Job heads west.
Now working the westside industries the Belt Job shoves a trio of PCCM cars towards Superior Furniture and Reliable Machine Co.
Spotted at Reliable Machine Company is NYC boxcar #80775 loaded with machine parts from Quality Fabrications in Bloomberg, NY.
Spotted at Superior Furniture is PC boxcar #360158 loaded with console TVs from Zenith in Bloomberg, NY and PC boxcar #142770 fulfilling a PCCM empty car request. The 142770 utilizes the early paint scheme from Despatch Shops applied in February thru March 1968.
The Belt Job continues its westside work at City Pallet spotting two bulkhead flats of lumber from Half Moon Lumber in South West Mill NY and empty PC boxcar #77047 (the cleanest boxcar in the city!) for its next PCCM load.
Spotted at Moore & Company is an old NYC Pacemaker boxcar loaded with sewing machine & wire twister parts from Quality Fabrications in Bloomberg, NY.
The Belt Job heads thru midtown towards North Side Yard and meets LIRR Train MA-3.
LIRR engineer Jimmy Alco brings Train MA-3 into North Side Yard as the EBRR trainmen look it over.
Jimmy Alco has coupled up to the PCCM cars heading to Fresh Pond Yard and is out to talk things over with the EBRR guys. Everyone is wondering when the NYCTL's PCCM 95 inbound portion will end.
Conductor John has the waybills from the LIRR MA-3 as Jimmy Alco heads out of North Side Yard with LIRR Train MA-4.
LIRR Train MA-4 heads thru Bedford NY towards Fresh Pond Yard.
Put it in the books!!! Finally!!!
Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you soon!!!

Eight posts to move al of that traffic! I enjoyed everyone of them! Following the Belt job gave me the opportunity to see several cars sent from my layout being set out on yours which is the fun of our virtual ops! We also get a nice tour of Empire City industries in multiple shots. I noted the prominent RI car pulled from Neal's Lumber and Hardware in two pictures! The LIRR connection always reinforces the concept of "beyond the basement" connections that make our ops more realistic. The final photo with our newest virtual ops car, the Dresser Magcobar, seemed very appropriate! Great work from posts 1 to 8!

DeleteThank you very much Ralph!!! Eight posts was a lot and I appreciate your following along and the compliments. The Route Ralph boxcar photobombed us twice this day!
