Penn Central Car Movements #95 / Part 2 / PC and EBRR Locals at Work

 Greetings All,

Welcome Back To Penn Central Car Movements #95!!!

Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad continues today with the Penn Central and Empire Belt locals.

Today's action opens up at Terminal Yard with Alco Joe ready to board the RS2s assigned to today's Bedford Turn, PC Train BT-27. Engine Hostler Wet Willie continues his streak of finding Alcos in the engine terminal for Alco Joe.

The Bedford Turn rolls into Bedford and is approaching the Hostess Plant where the crew will start their work.

A pair of empty EBRR covered hoppers are pulled out of the Hostess siding for their next PCCM load.

The Turn is now working the Schaefer Brewery and Conductor Murray gives the signal to Alco Joe to make the pull. The two EBRR 40' boxcars are loaded with beer for ShopRite in Rock Ridge NJ.

After getting the Bedford Turn coupled back together Alco Joe shoots the breeze with the Bedford Tower operator while he awaits clearance to make his run around move.

A hotshot reefer train passes Bedford Tower.

After the reefer train has passed Alco Joe has coupled onto the Bedford Turn and is pumping up the air pressure.

The Bedford Turn is held for the Long Island RR transfer train to North Side Yard, Train MA-3. The Alco boys, Alco Joe and Jimmy Alco, take a minute to get acquainted and discuss the merits of the Alco locomotives in use today, an Alco RS-1, RS-2 and RS-3.

Jimmy Alco brings the MA-3 thru Bedford.

Alco Joe heads back to Terminal Yard.

The Bedford Turn arrives in Terminal Yard.

Meanwhile over in Empire City LIRR Train MA-3 comes around the west side curve heading to North Side Yard.

The Empire Belt trainmen are out and ready to inspect the incoming LIRR train.

Jimmy Alco is greeted by Senior Engineer Sir Neal and conductor John at North Side Yard. The LIRR RS3 has coupled up to the freight consist going back to Fresh Pond Yard. Once the air pressure is sufficient the LIRR engines will shove the freight cars out of North Side Yard while pulling the inbound cars into the yard.

Conductor John has the waybills as Jimmy Alco reclaims the LIRR caboose.

Long Island RR Train MA-4 consisting of a group of non PCCM freight cars departs for Fresh Pond Yard.

It's time for the Empire Belt RR to join the op. PC Ralph is working today's Belt Job and is back in his familiar EBRR GP30 #2160 as he talks over the drill list with conductor John and Senior Engineer Sir Neal.

PC Ralph couples up to a trio of empty APRR gondolas needed to fulfill an empty PCCM freight car request at Gervais Pipe & Fitting and adds them to the Belt Job consist.

The Belt Job rolls onto the Belt Line.

The local work starts at Gervais Pipe & Fitting as two EBRR gondolas with pipe for Tropicana and three empty coil coaches heading back to Kings Port Steel are coupled onto.

Three empties get pulled from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse. The Tropicana car will head back to Tropicana in Rock Ridge NJ. The two PC cars will head to Terminal Yard to be readied for their next PCCM loads.

The Belt Job is now working the Cargill plant and pulling three empty PC covered hoppers. The trio will be going to Terminal Yard and Yard A to be readied for movement to the Pier 16 Grain Silos for their next PCCM loads.

An empty Cargill covered hopper that came in on LIRR Train MA-3 is spotted at Cargill for its next PCCM load and is one of three empties fulfilling an empty cars request.

The Belt Job is now working Neal's Lumber & Hardware pulling empty PC and NYC boxcars for their next PCCM loadings as Senior Engineer Sir Neal lends a hand.

A BAR 57' reefer loaded with produce for ShopRite in Rock Ridge NJ gets pulled from Empire Produce.

We'll cut it here for today with PC Ralph back at North Side Yard and Senior Engineer Sir Neal in his GP18-FB1-GP18 lash up coupled onto EBRR train EB-2, the daily transfer run to the PC's Terminal Yard.

We'll pick it up tomorrow with empty PC boxcar 77047 getting cleaned out for it's next PCCM load and Senior Engineer Sir Neal taking Empire Belt RR Train EB-2 with 25 PCCM and 5 non PCCM cars to Terminal Yard.

Be sure to catch the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Lots of freight action going on in Empire City. The movement around Neal’s Hardware & Lumber always looks busy. Must be 24/7 business over there. Nice seeing Cargill in the mix with those covered hoppers. I really like seeing the RS units in action, especially the LIRR RS-3’s! I see you mentioned the new yards over by Pier 16. Looking forward to seeing them in action as well.

The Bedford Turn's power pleased the Alco fans who get an additional treat with the meet between PC and LIRR RS units at Bedford Tower! The often maligned GP30s on the EBRR Belt Job managed to get their work done without complaints about slipping. I like the GP30/F7B/GP30 consist on that train, which sounded powerful on the video! I really enjoyed following the extensive switching action involving three roads! I noted the B&M checkerboard boxcar. I don't think I've often seen it in the virtual ops the N.Y.C.T.L. A most enjoyable read! Great work all around

      Thank you very much Ralph!!!
It was an Alcopalooza in Bedford and Bedford Park!
The EBRR GP30s with help from a leased F7B have no slippage problems with PC Ralph at the controls!!!
