Greetings All,
Welcome Back To Penn Central Car Movements #95!!!
Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad continues today with the delivery of more of our inbound freight cars and the arrival of Penn Central train TE-16.
We open up at Terminal Yard with Alco Joe called for the Bedford Turn, train BT-2. Engine hostler Wet Willie has delivered an Alco RS1 from his locomotive stable and again makes Alco Joe's day.
Train BT-27 departs Terminal Yard.
The Bedford Turn's first stop is T&R Gravel to spot a group of empties for their next PCCM loads. Empty NYC 47062 and EL 73510 will received loads of bagged iron ore for Port Owen Brick.
Four PC PS-2 covered hoppers will be loaded with locomotive sand for the APRR's Richmond Hill Engine Terminal.
Now finished at T&R Gravel Alco Joe brings the BT-27 into Bedford proper.
The Turn makes the long pull from the Bedford industrial siding.
Four TP&W boxcars loaded with lumber from Mike's Lumber in Rock Ridge NJ are constructively placed at University Millwork.
Three B&M RBLs loaded with plywood veneer from Eastern Plywood in Manchester, New Hampshire are also spotted at University Millwork to be unloaded first at the consignee's request.Empty Penn Central boxcar #229036 is spotted at Berk Enterprises to fulfill an empty PCCM car request. Alco Joe has moved down the secondary to work the Schaefer Brewery.
Spotted at Schaefer are TP&W boxcar #627 loaded with boxes from Canton Box in West Mill NY. Empty IC boxcar #30130 is spotted to fulfill an PCCM empty car request. Non PCCM Frisco and MILW boxcars are fulfilling empty car requests.
Alco Joe puts the Bedford Turn back together.
Alco Joe chats with the tower operator at Bedford Tower as he waits for clearance to make his run around move.
Here is the reason for his delay. PC symbol train TE-16 from Selkirk is superior and has clearance to take the mainline to Terminal Yard.
Train TE-16 charges thru Bedford NY towards Terminal Yard with 26 freight cars for interchange with the Empire Belt & Long Island RRs.
Train TE-16 comes into Terminal Yard.
The TE-16 power arrives in the engine terminal.
A short time later Kar Knocker and Big Mike get together to pull the caboose and inspect the train. The Dresser Magcobar RBL is our newest virtual ops car and is making it's PCCM debut on the NYCTL. It's loaded with Bentonite clay for the Suffolk County Water Authority.
While the TE-16 freight consist is getting inspected lets check in at Yard A. The Yard A switcher has put together its next block of freight cars for movement to Terminal Yard and Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage.
Empty PC boxcar #142770 is dropped in Terminal Yard to be delivered to an Empire City industry to fulfill a PCCM empty car request sent over from the Empire Belt RR.
The Yard A switcher is now working the Birdseye loading docks pulling out three EBRR reefers loaded with frozen produce.
Three empty APRR 57' reefers are spotted at Birdseye for their next PCCM loads.
We'll cut it here for today with the Yard A switcher returning to Yard A where the three EBRR reefers will be inspected by Perishable Protective Service Inspectors before being placed in the next outbound PCCM train. The TE-16 consist waits to the right for Kar Knocker to finish his inspection.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with Robert R bringing another Train BP-12 out of Bedford Park Yard.
Thanks for reading and watching!!!

BT-27 had a pretty sizeable train to switch. I enjoyed the video of the move for T&R Gravel! Large industries are noted to receive multiple car shipments such as the four TP&W cars and three B&M RBLs at University Milling! TE-16 continues a theme of long trains in this series! Welcome to the N.Y.C.T.L. Dresser Magcobar car #42868!

DeleteThanks Ralph!!! University Millwork must have scored a big contract to order all of that lumber!!!! The B&M and TP&W cars were a nice combination of later RBLs to handle these veneer loads.
