Penn Central Car Movements #73 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 3

Greetings All,


Welcome back to the Penn Central Car Movements Series #73!!!

P.C.C.M. #73, a three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR closes the outbound portion today on the N.Y.C.T.L. 

We start our day at Terminal Yard with the yard job working on the freight cars brought in yesterday on EBRR Train EB-2.
Two empty coil coaches and a gondola of pipe for HVAC will be going to Williams Yard as part of Block#1 for the Kings Port Division train.
Freight cars for Rock Ridge Yard are shoved into track 4 for the  Atlantic Pacific RR train.
AP 60394 and 60382 going to C&P Restaurant Supply in Rock Ridge NJ are shoved into the APRR train. 
Freight cars for Binghamton and Mayfield NY via West Mill Yard are blocked into the K.P.D train. 
52' gons, APRR 8203 and EBRR 5289, loaded with pipe for Shapeless Steel in Rock Ridge NJ are shoved into the APRR train.
The yard job works a long cut of cars to block EBRR boxcar #360279 going to International Paper in Rochester NY into the K.P.D. train. 
Empty PC gondolas 576104 and 576123 are spotted at the Terminal Yard engine facility for loading with scrap. 
Over at the Pier 16 Yard the switcher is busy working Bruce Electric Equipment. 
Three PC RBLs loaded with automobile electrical wiring and components for IDEAL Auto Parts are being pulled out of the siding. They'll join PC Hi Cube 272747 loaded with electrical parts for American Hardware. All are going to the A.P.R.R.  
The four PC cars are dropped here for pick up and placement in the A.P.R.R. train.
We're back with the Terminal Yard yard job and catch them pulling three T.O.F.C cars for Williams Yard.
The TOFC cars are coupled up to the four PC cars from Bruce Electric. 
Over in the yard tracks we see that some trains have been dispatched opening up much needed yard space. Long trains for the APRR and KPD now occupy tracks 1 and 2 respectively. 
The yard job now works Terminal Warehouse and Cold Storage pulling a long string of P.C.C.M. cars from the siding.
AP 86035 joins NYC 67086 going back to IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ for reloading.
The outbound trains are set and the yard is in pretty good shape.
The last switching move will be with NYC Hi Cube 173861.
The empty NYC Hi Cube is spotted at Bruce Electric Equipment for its next P.C.C.M. load.
It's time to get these trains moving!! Power has been coupled on to both trains. The A.P.R.R. train gets a pair of GP40s and the K.P.D. train has a pair of GP38-2s.

Penn Central Car Movements #73 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 2

Welcome back to the Penn Central Car Movements Series #73!!!

P.C.C.M. #73, a three layout virtual ops with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR, continues today on the Empire Belt RR. 

The Empire Belt RR trainmen talk things over in North Side Yard as they prepare to board their engines. 1/87th scale PC Ralph will handle the Morning Industrial Job in the GP30s. 1/87th scale senior engineer Sir Neal will handle the yard duties with the GE U23Cs 
1/87th scale PC Ralph brings the MIJ out of North Side Yard past Hohman Ave as he heads over to work the west side industries.
After leaving the rest of the train on the E.C. Viaduct the GP30s shove a GN 50'er thru the west side.
The MIJ pulls NYC 50' boxcar 80775 from Reliable Machine Co loaded with bulk parts for Peerless Appliance in Mayfield NY.
NYC 80775 is coupled into the MIJ and 1/87th scale PC Ralph brings the train east thru midtown.
The MIJ arrives on the east side of Empire City.
The MIJ is working the Gervais Pipe siding picking up two empty coil coaches going back to Kings Port Steel and PC gondola #288673 loaded with pipe for the Hudson Valley Ag CoOp.
The MIJ shoves back to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse. 
and pulls out empty PC boxcar #77047 and P&E boxcar #3638. These two cars will get spotted for their next P.C.C.M. loads in the inbound portion of this virtual op will be posted next weekend.
1/87th scale PC Ralph has the MIJ back together and heads over to  Empire Produce to pull EL 57' reefer #5034 loaded with fresh produce for C&P Rest Supply in Rock Ridge NJ. 
EL #5034 is coupled into the train.
The MIJ is shoving back to access the east side yard entrance Sitting on track 3 in train EB-2 are a pair of AP 50' RBLs going to C&P Restaurant Supply loaded with food from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse.
The MIJ rolls into North Side Yard on track 2. The two gons of pipe on track 3 are headed to Shapeless Steel in Rock Ridge NJ.
After a runaround move 1/87th scale PC Ralph has pulled the MIJ freight cars out of track 2 and coupled onto the freight cars in track 3 that are going to Terminal Yard in train EB-2. The guys have decided to build the train on the main so it doesn't foul the yard.
1/87th scale Sir Neal couples the U23Cs onto the head end of EB-2. The empty PC gons are heading for their next P.C.C.M. loads.
The GP30s couple up to the caboose to provide a shove to get the train moving.
1/87th scale Sir Neal brings the EB-2 onto the High Line.
And 1/87th scale PC Ralph cuts off on the fly!

We'll cut it here for today with 1/87th scale conductor John turning in his waybills at the yard office as Sir Neal waits by the 6720 to head back to North Side Yard caboose light.
We'll close it out tomorrow with the Terminal Yard crew working hard to get our two outbound trains put together and dispatched.

Penn Central Car Movements #73 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 1

Welcome to the Penn Central Car Movements Series #73!!!

P.C.C.M. #73 will be a three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR. We'll be posting our outbound installments this weekend and follow up with the inbound portion next weekend.

The N.Y.C.T.L. action starts once again in the wee hours at Bedford Park Yard with engineer Robert R getting ready to begin his day.
The Bedford Park Yard job will be quite busy today moving both P.C.C.M. and non P.C.C.M. cars.
The B.P.Y. Job couples up to two P.C.C.M. cars at American Hardware. PC 160502 is loaded with bulk hardware for IBM. P&LE 35892 is loaded with bulk hardware for Peerless Appliance. Both will head to the Kings Port Division (K.P.D.). 
With the two boxcars in tow 1/87th scale Robert R heads over to work the Bedford Park Ford Plant
A string of empty auto box cars get pulled out of the Ford siding. The NYC 86'er is going to IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ for reloading. The KP&W, PC/TOC and NYC 60'ers are going back to ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY to be reloaded.
1/87th scale Robert R gets permission to proceed to Terminal Yard as Train BP-12 from Bedford Tower Operator John B.

1/87th scale Robert R brings BP-12 into Terminal Yard.
The Terminal Yard yard job couples up to pull the six P.C.C.M. cars from BP-12s Alco S-4.
The S-4 heads into the engine terminal for refueling.
1/87th scale Robert R with his S-4 fuel tanks topped off heads back to Bedford Park as Train BP-41 with a block of non P.C.C.M. cars. 
Next we catch 1/87th scale Alco Joe being greeted by engine hostler Wet Willie who has a trio of Alco Centuries available for Alco Joe and train BT-27
The Centuries are coupled on, the air test is done and BT-27 eases out of the yard.
BT-27 rumbles into Bedford passing University Mill Work and Berk Enterprises where  four P.C.C.M. cars need to be pulled.
1/87th scale Alco Joe does the long shove into the Bedford siding to pull the P.C.C.M. cars. From University Mill Work AP 58260 is loaded with veneers for Mike's Lumber in Rock Ridge NJ. TPFX 5510 is empty heading back to Triangle Pacific in N. Vancouver via the BCOL RR following the instructions on the side of the car.
From Berk Enterprises: PC 229046 is loaded with printed packaging for Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port NY. PC 142770 (black PC) is loaded with printed packaging for Morton Salt in Rock Ridge NJ.
1/87th scale conductor Murray signals to Alco Joe that the AP 58260 has coupled up to PC N5H caboose 18436 making it's P.C.C.M. debut today. The PC N5H series consisted of 13 second hand cabooses purchased from the Southern Railway and 5 from the Indianapolis Union Terminal in 1971.
After coupling the freight cars to the caboose 1/87th scale Alco Joe runs engines light towards Heileman Brewery.
Empty TP&W boxcar #627 gets pulled from Heileman Brewery.
Empty TP&W 627 is then shoved into Berk Enterprises for its next P.C.C.M. load.
1/87th scale Alco Joe is out of the cab as BT-27 is held temporarily at the Bedford Station crossover.
Catch 1/87th scale Alco Joe coupling onto his caboose and taking BT-27 back towards Terminal Yard.

We'll cut it here for today with BT-27 arriving back at a crowded Terminal Yard.
We'll pick it up tomorrow in Empire City at North Side Yard with the E.B.R.R. trainmen getting into the action.
