New York - New Jersey Ops #3 Part 2 / Outbound Operations Continue

Welcome Back to New York-New Jersey Ops #3!!!

NY-NJ Ops #3 continues today with the NYCTL working on interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad. Let's get to it!!

Today's NY-NJ operations begin in Terminal Yard with Alco Joe assigned to the Bedford Turn, Trains BT-27 / BT-28. The assigned power for today are an Alco RS32 and Alco RS1.

Train BT-27 departs Terminal Yard.

Train BT-27 gets to work at the Schaefer Brewery across from the Bedford Train Station. The commuters wait impatiently as two APRR boxcars loaded with beer for C&P Restaurant Supply in Rock Ridge, NJ get pulled from the siding.

With the work at the brewery completed the crew gets to work on the long Bedford industrial siding.

Four empty TP&W RBLs are pulled  from University Millwork for movement to their next NY-NJ loads.

Four empty PC boxcars get pulled from Key Food for movement to their next NY-NJ loads.

Conductor Murray signals Alco Joe to a safe coupling for the freight cars going back to Terminal Yard.

Conductor Murray's caboose is coupled on to what will become Train BT-28.

With the industries serviced Alco Joe is held on the Bedford Secondary for a westbound freight from Terminal Yard.

The westbound freight passes Bedford Station.

Train BT-28 heads back to Terminal Yard.

The Bedford Turn has returned to Terminal Yard.

Alco Joe delivers the RS32 and RS1 to the engine terminal and chats with engine hostler Wet Willie.

The terminal switcher collects the cabooses from the BT-28 and EB-2 that are sitting on the arrival/departure tracks awaiting classification.

Big Mike is at the throttle of the PC U23Cs 6710 and 6718 that are working the yard for this op and gets to work on the EB-2 and BT-28 freight consists. Gondolas of scrap from Gershow Recycling in Medford, NY are added to an APRR train for movement to Bethlehem Steel via the APRR Rock Ridge Yard.

BAR 7574 and the four TP&W RBL's are shoved into track five for interchange with the B&O and movement to the Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage Complex and their next NY-NJ loads.

Big Mike and Kar Knocker talk things over as they prepare to gives Train WSJ-1 a roll by inspection when it departs the yard. 

Next up the Water Street Job is ready to depart Terminal Yard for the Water Street Yard in Empire City and to service the PC Richard Warehouse.

Train WSJ-1 heads to Water Street Yard.

Three empty 40' Hi-Cube boxcars (2 APRR, 1 EBRR) get pulled from PC Richard for movement to their next NY-NJ loads.

Watch the Water Street Job get the job done.

Now Train WSJ-2, the train is held at Empire City Station for the New Haven train to clear the mainline.

Train NH-3 climbs the grade into Terminal Yard.

Train WSJ-2 rolls into Terminal Yard.

The WSJ Alco RS11 pulls into the engine terminal next to the New Haven FM H16-44s that are laying over.

We'll cut it here with the terminal switcher pulling the cabooses from the NH and the WSJ-2.

We'll pick it up tomorrow with Kar Knocker and Big Mike getting the inbound freight traffic sorted and blocked into their next trains.
