Penn Central Car Movements #80 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 4 / The Inbound Cycle Begins

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #80!!

Follow along as P.C.C.M. #80 begins the inbound cycle today. This virtual op is a three layout affair with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

We open up with Train TY-2 (Selkirk to Terminal Yard) rattling the windows of Empire City Station as it heads for Terminal Yard.

After cutting off from TY-2 the serious six axle power is seriously thirsty and heads into the fuel rack.

The jitney picks up the conductor and rear brakeman as Kar Knocker gets ready to uncouple the caboose.

The yard job pulls off the caboose, the train is blue flagged for Kar Knocker to do his knocking and the jitney brings the trainmen to the yard office.

A short time later Train TY-4 from Selkirk rumbles thru Empire City.

TY-4 passes Bedford Station and arrives at Terminal Yard

TY-4's engines have cut from the train and arrive at the fuel rack.

Kar Knocker has uncoupled the caboose, Big Mike pulls off the caboose and the TY-4 conductor and rear brakeman get picked up.

The yard job gets to work on Train TY-2s freight consist.

Big Mike sets up the locals to deliver the freight cars that originated on the Kings Port Division.

TY-4 is ready to be worked and is pulled to the yard racks. That good looking EL 50' reefer is making it's P.C.C.M. debut.

Cars for the Long Island RR sit in track #2 as the yard job shoves a Hostess Covered Hopper from the Rock Ridge Cargill Plant into track #5 that is holding cars for the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27.

The yardmaster has combined train EC-1 (Terminal Yard to North Side Yard) with the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27.

With that done Big Mike starts making the deliveries within the yard limits. First move is to pull the empty tank cars from the diesel fuel unloading area.

A pair of Gulf tank cars loaded with diesel fuel from the Kings Port Gulf River Facility are spotted for unloading.

PC Hi-Cube #272747 loaded with paper products from Shop Rite in Rock Ridge NJ is spotted at Terminal Warehouse. 

The EL Reefer (A gift from 1:1 Santa Neal) loaded with Freihofer's Bakery chocolate chip cookies and other baked goods gets shoved into the engine terminal's number one track.

The APRR Rock Ridge Yard boys have sent the car full of goodies to the NYCTL Trainmen as a reward for their good work in P.C.C.M. 79. With their shifts over the guys have arrived to get some of the tribute bestowed upon them.  

Sup't Shore thanks 1:87 Sir Neal for the thoughtfulness and generosity. PC Ralph directs the laborers to load a crate into his Corvette, (Don't scratch the paint!) and ATJOE questions Big Mike on whether he has enough baked goods to take home. 

We'll cut it here and pick it up tomorrow starting at Bedford Park Yard, providing the guys return to work!
