Greetings All
Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #77!!
The three layout virtual op with my New York Central Train Layout interchanging freight cars with 1:1 PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad continues today.
We open up at the Penn Central Terminal Yard with engineer Big Mike boarding the pair of SD9s assigned to the yard job.
First stop is Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage to pull PC boxcar 360063 loaded with bulk cardboard for Canton Box in West Mill NY.
PC 360063 is shoved back to pull out empty NH boxcar 36116 for it's next P.C.C.M. load.
The yard job picks up GM&O boxcar 21129 loaded with electrical parts from Bruce Electric for Peerless Appliance in Mayfield NY.
Six precooling 57' reefers get pulled out from the Pier 16 yard.
The six 57' reefers (3 APRR and 3 EBRR) get spotted at Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage for their next P.C.C.M loads.
The three P.C.C.M cars are shoved into track#3 for later blocking.
Next we turn our attention to PC Ralph running the Empire Belt RR's Morning Industrial Job with a GP30-FB1-GP30 consist.
The MIJ gets to work at Gervais Pipe & Fitting coupling up to three 50' APRR gondolas with pipe for the Rock Ridge NJ Tropicana Plant and PC gondola #288672 loaded with pipe for the Hudson Valley Agricultural Cooperative that will go to the KP&W's Williams Yard.
An empty Tropicana RBL with empty PC and EBRR boxcars get pulled from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse. The Tropicana RBL will head back to Tropicana in Rock Ridge NJ.
Looks like the MIJ crew read their switch list today! The empty PC and EBRR boxcars have been set aside to be coupled back into the headend of the train for easier spotting for their next P.C.C.M. loads.
Next stop is Neal's Lumber & Hardware where two empty 40' EBRR boxcars get pulled out for their next P.C.C.M. loads.
EBRR 50' RBL #358160 gets spotted at Neal's Lumber & Hardware for it's next P.C.C.M. load fulfilling the RBL empty car request.
PC Ralph and the MIJ cross Hohman Ave to access the midtown industries. Note that empty PC boxcar #142270 pulled earlier from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse is coupled behind the engines.
Among the cars being pulled out of the midtown siding are two SRR bulkhead flats at Empire City Caterpillar loaded with heavy equipment for the Hudson Valley Ag Coop.
The Morning Industrial Job heads west towards Hohman Ave
Now working the West Side industries PC Ralph shoves empty PC boxcar #142270 into the storage track to pick up two EBRR empties.
The MIJ is at Superior Furniture pulling loaded AP RBL #58260 loaded with furniture for Three Amigo's Warehouse in Rock Ridge NJ and PC boxcar #360158 loaded with furniture for Battaglia Brothers Warehouse in Kings Port NY.
The MIJ spots the empties including PC boxcar #142770 spotted at Superior Furniture for it's next P.C.C.M. load. Nice work!!

The MIJ is back together and heads back to North Side Yard. Conductor John and Sir Neal inspect the MIJ as PC Ralph brings it into North Side Yard via the eastside entrance.
The MIJ heads west on yard track 3.
We'll close it out here for today with PC Ralph tying down the train.

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
More freight coming out of Empire City. Some nice intra layout and future PCCM moves. Make sure those reefers are fully charged as any damaged food would not be accepted by C&P. One of their customers is ‘Meet At Ralph’s” diner and the Rock Ridge Yard crew chow down there every day…
10-4 Rock Ridge...
DeleteThanks for the compliments Sir Neal!!! The reefers are fully fueled and cooled!!! Once loaded they be hustled on their way to C&P!

Acknowledge the work of the Yard Job and the dispatch of the MIJ.
West Mill out.
The giant Terminal Warehouse makes a nice backdrop while the Pennsy Cadillacs perform the Yard Job! Great work by the MIJ crew figuring out the most efficient way to switch their cars! I'm liking this first new move of Caterpillar heavy equipment on the Southern Bulkhead flats!
Thank you Ralph! I forgot the SD9 were called Cadillacs! I agree the heavy equipment on the SRR Bulkheads does look pretty cool!
