Penn Central Car Movements #77 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 3 / Transfers and Turns

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #77!!

The three layout virtual op with my New York Central Train Layout interchanging freight cars with 1:1 PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad continues today.

We open up at the North Side Yard office with the Empire Belt guys making their afternoon plans.

PC Ralph has started his engines and is pumping up the air for the terminal air test before taking Train EB-4, a daily afternoon transfer run, to the Penn Central's Terminal Yard.

Over in Bedford Park Yard engineer Robert R is busy at the Ford Auto Plant's tank car track pulling two empty Gulf tank cars for return to the Kings Port Gulf facility

Next move is at American Hardware Supply to pull PC boxcar #160502 loaded with bulk hardware for IBM in Binghamton NY

PC 160502 is coupled to the Bedford Park Yard caboose.

Now working the Ford Plant Robert R pulls empty LV boxcar #8247 going back to the Delco Plant in Flint MI along with empty PRR and NYC 86'ers going to IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ.

Robert R is held at Bedford Tower to wait for Train EB-4 to pass.

Train EB-4 passes Bedford Tower

PC Ralph brings the EB-4 into Terminal Yard.

After cutting from the train PC Ralph brings his engines to the fuel pad and is greeted by Wet Willie who asks if they're having an EBRR convention here!

Train BP-41 heads for Terminal Yard

A short time later the Bedford Park train arrives in Terminal Yard.

Robert R is now on his way back to Bedford Park with a cut of cars as ATJOE and Conductor Murray report for the Bedford Turn. No Alco Joe today with that all EMD consist!

The Bedford Turn rolls into Bedford passing Berk Enterprises where Lehigh Valley and Penn Central boxcars await pickup.

ATJOE shoves back to begin the long pull. Two empty EBRR and one empty Hostess covered hopper get pulled from Hostess for their next P.C.C.M. loads.

Now being pulled from Berk Enterprises Penn Central boxcar #229046 loaded with printed labels for Van Winkle Canning and LV boxcar NIRX 41000 loaded with printed packaging for Blue Ribbon Flour.

The Schaefer Brewery makes it's virtual ops debut as the Bedford Turn pulls out a group of loaded boxcars including that NYC Hi Cube boxcar loaded with tall necks for Reynolds Beverage. Being pulled from Neubaum's Coffee and Tea is BAR boxcar #5226 loaded with bulk tea for Cavendish Fine Foods.

ATJOE makes his runaround move passing NYC 173861 loaded with the Schaefer tall necks wishing he had a cold one right now.

We'll cut it here for today with the Bedford Turn back together and heading for Terminal Yard

We'll turn it over to tomorrow to Big Mike and the Terminal Yard crew to get the trains blocked and on their way.

Be sure to follow the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Train EB-4 looked very impressive on the roll by at Bedford Tower. I can only assume the crew at the North Side Yard office were discussing their afternoon ‘lunch’ plans. Still getting thirsty looking at the new Schaefer Brewery, really adds some life to the layout.

You know the EBRR men eat well with all that good food close by! Thanks for the compliments! I think I'll put a couple of Schaefers on ice!

Acknowledge meet between EB-4 and BP-41 at Bedford Tower.

    West Mill out.

EB-4 with the three unit consist including the FB1 was a long good looking train! I noted the appearance of recently completed F7A #1728 and hail the virtual ops debut of Scahefer Brewery! Hopefully ATJOE was able to "have more than one" at the end of his shift!

Thanks for the compliments Ralph!!! In a way Schaefer is like an F7A. It's the one engine to have when having more than one!
