Penn Central Car Movements #77 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 4 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #77!!

The outbound portion of this three layout virtual op with my New York Central Train Layout interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad concludes today.

Big Mike and the Terminal Yard crew prepare to start building our outbound trains

Big Mike grabs the freight cars from Bedford Park. 
The freight cars from Empire City get worked next.
Train SK-5 with cars for the Atlantic Pacific RR's Rock Ridge Yard get blocked on Track#1

Empty boxcars for IDEAL Auto Parts and empty covered hoppers for Morton Salt and Cargill get coupled to the Rock Ridge cars.

Empty LV boxcar 66392 and empty EBRR covered hoppers get shoved towards the Pier 16 yard on track #8.

The LV and EBRR freight cars are dropped in the Pier 16 yard.

On the way back to Terminal Yard Big Mike works the Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage siding pulling six 57' reefers loaded with frozen produce for C&P Restaurant Supply in Rock Ridge NJ.

The six reefers are placed on the head end of Train SK-5.

Next assignment is building Train SK-7. This  train of freight cars for the Kings Port & Western RR's Williams Yard and the PC's Kings Port Division West Mill Yard starts getting blocked for departure.

While Big Mike works on SK-7 the Pier 16 Job has spotted the two empty EBRR covered hoppers at the Pier 16 silos for their next P.C.C.M. loads

A short time later a Lehigh Valley transfer from their West 27th Street Yard brings a train into the Pier 16 Yard via the 12th Ave running track.

The Pier 16 Job works on the freight car interchange. 

The Pier 16 Job pulls out the freight cars for the Lehigh Valley to couple them up to the LV engine.

The LV heads back to their West 27th Street freight yard with five boxcars including LV 66392 leaving for it's next P.C.C.M. load.

Back at Terminal Yard Big Mike continues making progress building Train SK-7. The Mayfield block brings up the tail end and the Bloomberg block gets coupled on.

The West Mill and Kings Port blocks are coupled on to Train SK-7.

Freight cars for the Kings Port & Western RR are placed on the headend of Train SK-7.

The outbound trains are ready and it's time for the motive power.

A quartet of U Boats get called for Train SK-5.

The U Boats couple on to Train SK-5.

Train SK-5 rumbles thru Bedford


Next stop Selkirk!!!

An hour later three GP38s and a GP40 are coupled up to Train SK-7.

SK-7 rattles the windows in Bedford NY

Next stop Selkirk!!!

    Big Penn Central consists on both trains remind me of watching trains on the River Line as a kid! Lots of freight leaving Terminal Yard today! The Pier 16 jobs are creating additional operations interest and provide some unexpected treats like the LV switcher! I'm seeing some road weary PC cars on that LV transfer! Nice job on the outbound photos and videos sir!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

    Move em’ out! Those two beasts of trains would rattle windows 10 miles away! The A.P.R.R. appreciates the way you blocked the cars for Rock Ridge. I see those extra boxes of Freihofer Cookies that Sir 1/87th Neal sends are paying dividends. Your Pier 16 job is looking very active as of late. Nice move between the 27th St. Yard and Pier 16

      Thanks for the compliments Sir Neal!!! Those cookies sure motivated the NYCTL trainmen! The Pier 16 area is fun to work and there are a few moves there from the RTMF.
