Penn Central Car Movements #96 Part 3 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #96!!!

Our 96th virtual op with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR interchanging freight cars with my New York Central Layout continues today with our final outbound car movements and dispatch of our outbound trains.

We pick up the action at Terminal Yard where Supt' Shore gives a pep talk to the various crews working in and around the yard.

The Yard Job starts working PCCM freight cars from T&R Gravel that include four PC PS2 covered hoppers of locomotive sand.

PCCM freight cars heading to Selkirk and the Kings Port Division in Train SK-5 are getting blocked on track #5. An empty LV boxcar heading to Flint, MI joins EL and NYC boxcars of bagged iron ore going to Port Owen, NY and some empty 86' Auto Parts Cars going to Mayfield, NY.

Big Mike using three empty PCCM B&M RBLs bound for Mechanicville as a handle has pulled four PCCM TOFC flatcars from the TOFC track also going to Mechanicville for interchange with the B&M.

Check out the pull into Terminal Yard here

The First and Last are placed on the head end of Train SK-5. The Triangle Pacific boxcar holds the honor of being the first PCCM freight car put into service. The Dresser Magcobar RBL is the most recent PCCM freight car to join the virtual ops.

Time for beans!! The yard crew heads for Dino's Pizza Parlor.

The Yard A crew can now make their moves and not get in the way of the Terminal Yard crew.

The Yard A crew pulls three PCCM AP 57' Reefers from Birdseye in building #3 of the Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage complex.

PCCM AP boxcars 60327 and 60358 loaded with TV cabinets for Zenith in Bloomberg NY and an empty HRC 40' PCCM boxcar get pulled from Empire Millwork in building #1

After spotting the PCCM cars from the Terminal Warehouse Complex in Yard A for inspection the Yard A crew starts working the Pier 16 Grain Silos.

Five PCCM covered hoppers of grain are pulled towards Terminal Yard for placement in Train #SK-7 that will handle traffic for the APRR.

The Yard A crew delivers the covered hoppers to Terminal Yard and shoves four empty PCCM TP&W boxcars towards Yard A.

The crew gets Yard A in order pulling outbound cars for movement to Terminal Yard.

The Yard A switcher brings a cut of PCCM cars to Terminal Yard.

Big Mike is back from beans and begins his final blocking of Trains SK-5 and SK-7.

Big Mike works the headend of train SK-7 sorting five gondolas of pipe going to Shapeless Steel in Rock Ridge NJ.

The switch work is done and Kar Knocker and a yard clerk will walk the train to check for discrepancies and mechanical issues. The empty HRC boxcar will be held at Terminal Yard for future movement to its next PCCM loading.

Train SK-5 is ready to go!!!

Train SK-5 departs Terminal Yard.

And rolls thru Bedford NY

Next stop Selkirk!!!

Train SK-7 is now cleared to depart.

Train SK-7 rumbles thru Bedford NY.

Be sure to follow the action on Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

    West Mill out.

So much work to do to assemble SK-5 and SK-7 as the Rail Traffic Management Form's car forwarding schedules have led to long trains coming out of the N.Y.C.T.L. this series! Nice job with the well coordinated work putting both outbound trains together with railfan- worthy consists at the head ends of both!.

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

The blocking is well under way at Terminal Yard. Big Mike and the crew have things well under hand. The APRR crew at Rock Ridge appreciates the hard work your crew performs and the advance notice on car blocks.

    Nice work Sir John!

  3. It was great to see Big Mike and crew put together SK-5 and SK-7 together for the trip up the hurdle. It wouldn’t be a complete segment without a Beeliner pass 😉 Nice job Sir John 👍🚂
