Greetings All,
Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #80!!
Follow along as the P.C.C.M's enter their fifth year! This virtual op will once again be a three layout affair with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.
We open up in the early morning at Bedford Park Yard with engineer Robert R getting ready to board his Alco S-4.
First move of 2021 is pulling this empty car from All City Storage. Second move will be to pull two empty AP 40' boxcars from American Hardware that are behind the engine.
Third move is to pull two empty Evans Steel Coaches from the Ford Plant.
The tight confines of the Bedford Park Yard make for challenging switching and runaround moves.
Our WSOR Cancer Awareness Car gets coupled up to some other non P.C.C.M. cars in the tiny yard.
Robert R couples the AP 40' boxcars and Evans Coil Coaches to the cars coming out of the yard.
The train is left on the running track as empty APRR and EBRR auto parts cars get pulled from the Ford Plant. Once the train is back together they will head to Terminal Yard as Train BP-12
Train BP-12 comes out of Bedford Park and heads to Terminal Yard
Robert R brings the train into Terminal Yard.
BP-12 is yarded on track #1.
Robert R heads back to Bedford Park Yard with Train BP-41.
With BP-41 gone Big Mike running the yard job gets busy building a hot outbound train pulling these for T.O.F.C. cars going to the KP&W's Williams Yard. Empty Steel Coaches from Ford going to the KP&W for delivery to Kings Port Steel are included in this high priority train. You' can't build cars without steel! At least in the late 60's and early 70's.
AP and EBRR empty auto parts boxcars are coupled in for return to IDEAL Auto parts in Rock Ridge NJ.
The hot train to Selkirk awaits power and crew as we catch ATJOE strolling towards the trio of GP7s powering today's Bedford Turn.
ATJOE brings the Bedford Turn (Train BT-27) into Bedford where he'll work several industries.
One stop is the Schaefer Brewery pulling some loaded Schaefer reefers.
Empty AP 40' boxcars #4035 and #4182 join a pair of EBRR boxcars on the Schaefer Brewery siding awaiting their next P.C.C.M. loads. With the switching done at Schaefer the BT-27 is held at Bedford Station and ATJOE is out on the walkway looking towards Terminal Yard.
Back at Terminal Yard the power is coupled on and the Kar Knocker has cleared the train for departure.
The Hotshot rumbles past Bedford Station.
The train rumbles thru Empire City.
Next stop Selkirk!!!We'll close it out here today and pick it up tomorrow in Empire City.

West Mill out.
It sure feels good to be running a traditional virtual op gain! Nice start on this 80th series with a great mix of local action and an inter-layout train with cars for the Kings Port Division! The Breast Cancer Awareness car prompts me to wish all patients and their families good health and peace of mind. I especially enjoyed the video roll-by! The car carriers loaded with new autos sure looked good!

DeleteThat it does Ralph!!! The coincidental caprice of the car card system combined with the long layoff from traditional virtual ops had the Cancer Awareness car still in non PCCM play for part 1 of this series. Thanks for the well wishes and the compliments!!

A great start to 2021! Trains in and out of Bedford Park make for some nice action. Very impressive motive power on that Hotshot train to Selkirk with PC 6282 on the lead. Thank you for having the Breast Cancer Awareness Car on the railroad in action, regardless of the era.
