Penn Central Car Movements #72 / NYCTL Part 4 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

Greetings All,

Welcome back to the Penn Central Car Movements #72!!

The P.C.C.M. #72 three layout virtual with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with the dispatch of our outbound freight trains.

The action opens with the Terminal Yard yard job getting to work on the freight cars brought in on yesterday's EBRR train, EB-2.
An EBRR loaded boxcar for Marcal, gondolas for Shapeless Steel and an empty RBL for Tropicana are shoved into the Rock Ridge Yard holding track.
The Pier 16 yard job gets into the action pulling three NYC 50' boxcars from Bruce Electric Equipment that are loaded with wires and cables for IBM in Binghamton NY.
The loaded NYC cars are brought to Terminal Yard track #8.
The Terminal Yard yard job is now shoving the three NYC boxcars into track #2 where he will start building the train for West Mill.
The three empty PC RBLs picked up yesterday at Ralph's Grocery Warehouse yesterday are being pulled towards the Pier 16 yard to satisfy a request for three empty 50' boxcars.
The empty PC RBLs are spotted at Bruce Electric Equipment for their next PCCM load.
Over at the engine terminal GM&O 40' boxcar #21129 is being loaded with empty 55 gallon drums to be returned to Kings Port Gulf as the engine terminal switcher stands by to couple up.
The 9999 shoves the GM&O 40' boxcar out of the engine terminal.
The 9999, PC's only 44 ton switcher, shoves the GM&O boxcar going to the Kings Port Gulf Facility into the West Mill Block.
With the 9999 now clear the yard job gets to work building the West Mill train.
Block 2, the Kings Port block, is coupled into the West Mill train.
Block 1, the KP&W Williams Yard block is coupled on.
Empty BM and LV cars are on the head end of Block #1, the KP&W Williams Yard block, as these cars will head back to the BM and LV via interchange with the KP&W.
It is time to get these trains on the move!! The train for Rock Ridge Yard, Extra 2327, powered by a trio of GP35s is ready to go! The GP35s will bring the train to Weehawken where it will be turned over to the Atlantic Pacific RR for delivery to Rock Ridge Yard.

Watch Extra 2327 heading out of town here;

Next stop Weehawken Yard!!!
The West Mill train's power, a PC F7 A-B-B-A set is coupled on. This train will be Extra 1862 and will terminate at Selkirk. A Kings Port Division train will then take it to West Mill via the River Line.

Watch Extra 1862 leaving town here

Nest stop Selkirk!!!!
That wraps up the N.Y.C.T.L. outbound portion of P.C.C.M. 72. The 1/87th scale Terminal Yard trainmen are enjoying the quiet before the inbound portions storm arrives this weekend.
We'll pick up the inbound portions this weekend with 40 freight cars from the K.P.D. and A.P.R.R. arriving at Terminal Yard. Yikes!

Be sure to catch the series as it unfolds on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR

Here's bonus video with the outbound trains rolling past
Bedford Station to the sounds of Duke Ellington

Thanks for reading!!!

See ya soon!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Nice way to finish the outbound! Rock Ridge Yard is prepared for inbound freight. Your Geep Trio (sounds like a music group) are very impressive and will be turned around at or before Weehawken. The view of your F7 A-B-B-A consist on the high line makes that run with ease. Lots of horsepower! Your ‘added touch’ with the roll by with ‘The Duke’ was nice to listen to.

Rock Ridge Yard at the ready!

Thanks for the compliments 1:1 Sir Neal!!

Adjust motive power as conditions warrant. Glad you liked the Duke's contribution to the virtual ops!

    West Mill out.

Great work completing the out bound installments for this series. The N.Y.C.T.L. had to handle a lot of freight this time! Industries like Bruce electric near Terminal Yard have greatly enhanced operations as has the addition of the Pier 16 Job. I like this barrel exchange using the GM&O boxcar between Gulf and Terminal Yard's engine facility. The loads are eye catching. Glad to see an F7A-B-B-A set that doesn't slip while hauling its train! :) Excellent post and very enjoyable!

Thanks for the compliments Ralph! The GM&O-Gulf-Terminal Yard move has become a favorite of mine as well. It's easy to stage and adds visible interest. For the record the PC F7 A-B-B-A lashup was filmed before the slipping units on the KPD were posted. 😊
