Welcome to the Penn Central Car Movements #72!!
Empty A.P. 50' RBL #582260 gets pulled from All City Storage.
P.C.C.M. #72 will be a three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division. We'll be posting our outbound segments this weekend and the inbound segments will follow next weekend.
The N.Y.C.T.L. action starts at the compact Bedford Park Yard with 1/87th scale engineer Robert R getting ready to board his Alco S4.
With the AP RBL in the yard 1/87th scale Robert R pulls two empty Evans breadbox trough coil coaches from the Ford steel track that will be going back to Kings Port Steel.
The AP RBL is coupled on to the breadbox trough cars.
Next stop is pulling this pair of empty EBRR auto parts cars from the Ford Plant. Both will be going to IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ.
1/87th scale Robert R has brought the train out to Bedford Tower where he gets permission from 1/87th scale John B to proceed to Terminal Yard as Train BP-41 (Bedford Park to Terminal Yard).
BP-41 cruises thru Bedford NY with five P.C.C.M. cars in tow.
BP-41 arrives at Terminal Yard and heads into track #3.
The Terminal Yard yard job gets to work on the BP-41 freight cars. The PC 50'er and P&LE 40'er coupled onto the BP-41 caboose will be heading back to Bedford Park Yard.
The Alco S-4 has been coupled on to the short train returning to Bedford Park Yard. 1/87th scale Kar Knocker gives his blessing, Big Mike has come over to say hello and Robert R is ready to go!
1/87th scale Robert R brings Train BP-12 (Terminal Yard to Bedford Park) thru the Terminal Yard tunnel.
BP-12 rolls back into Bedford Park passing the Bedford Tower.
Empty PC 50' boxcar #160502 and empty P&LE 40' boxcar #35892 are spotted at American Hardware for their next P.C.C.M. loads. That closes out the outbound portion from Bedford Park Yard.
Back at Terminal Yard 1/87th scale Big Mike has been called for Extra 1218 that will work T&R Gravel and the NYC Water Street Freight House with non player cars.
Extra 1218 comes around the T&R Gravel curve where we see three APRR ballast hoppers that will be going back to the APRR MOW Dept at Rock Ridge Yard.
The 1218 shoves back into T&R Gravel to pick seven loaded cars.
Also coming out of T&R Gravel are PC and KP&W PS-2 covered hoppers loaded with sand for the KPD / KP&W Engine Terminal and two hoppers of ballast for the KP&W MOW Dept.
The work done at T&R Gravel 1/87th scale Big Mike eases the train down the grade towards Bedford Station and Empire City.
Heading into the tunnel we get a good look at the three APRR ballast hoppers making their P.C.C.M. debut.
The ballast hoppers and PS2s for the KPD are followed by several non player cars going to the Water Street Freight Terminal.
Extra 1218 has come off the "slide" and heads towards the freight house thru this newly upgraded area.
After coming thru the Empire City Station reverse curve Extra 1218 passes RA Tower.
The work done at the Freight House, Extra 1218 heads back towards the "slide".
Extra 1218 is holding it's own after lugging the train up the Empire City "slide'' and now works the Bedford portion of the grade.
Extra 1218 rumbles up the last grade to Terminal Yard.
We'll cut it here for today as Extra 1218 is back at Terminal Yard running across the weigh in motion scales.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with the Terminal Yard yard job getting things organized and the dispatching of a Penn Central local to handle some of the industry switching chores that still await us.
Be sure to catch the series as it unfolds on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
Well done kicking off P.C.C.M. 72! The A.P.R.R. will be making great strides using ballast from T&R Gravel. We're looking forward to this new business relationship.
The newly upgraded area came out great. The details you added make a nice touch.

Acknowledge arrival of BP-41 at Terminal Yard, and the dispatch of BP-12 Extra and 1218.
West Mill out.
Beford Park ops are becoming a regular favorite. I'm glad you built that small yard. Extra 1218 is looking fab headed by NH power that has the guts to lead trains up "The Slide". The ballast cars are nicely made! An excellent debut for them in this series!

The Bedford Park run is well served with the NYC S-4. Looks right at home making deliveries and pick ups. Extra 1218 is well served with the New Haven GP9 on the lead and fan favorite NYC GP20 bringing it's turbocharged 567 to pull the train. Really like the new APRR ballast hoppers. They turned out great!!!
