Penn Central Car Movements #72 / NYCTL Part 5 / The Inbound Cycle Begins

Greetings All,

Welcome back to the Penn Central Car Movements #72!!

The P.C.C.M. #72 three layout virtual with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with the arrival of our inbound freight trains.

Extra 3007 is coming thru Empire City with a leased APRR GP38-2 and freight cars from Sir Neal's Rock Ridge Yard.
Extra 3007 rolls past Bedford Tower and arrives at Terminal Yard;

The yard job couples up to Extra 3007's caboose.
The bakers dozen of freight cars are shoved into track#3 while the three engines head to the engine terminal.
Extra 3007s consist heads into the fuel rack.
An hour or so later Extra 1862, four F units strong, is rumbling thru Empire City with freight cars from PC Ralph's West Mill Yard.
Extra 1862 passing Bedford Tower and entering Terminal Yard;

The yard job pulls Extra 1862's caboose and train out of track #1. TPFX 5510, the very first virtual ops car, has come down from Triangle Pacific in Vancouver via the BCOL RR with wood products for University Mill Work in Bedford NY.
The yard is filling up fast and there is another inbound train from the Kings Port Division on the way.
Extra 1862's A-B-B-A consist heads to the engine terminal.
Extra 1862 heads into the sand rack to get the sand boxes filled.
The yard job starts blocking the cars from the APRR and KPD into local trains.
Four cars of auto parts from ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY are shoved into track #6 for delivery to the Bedford Park Ford Plant.
A block of cars for Bedford industries include TPFX 5510 going to University Mill Work, PC 229046 going to Berk Enterprises and TP&W 627 going to Heileman Brewery.
With most of the local trains ready to go the yard job shoves a four car cut towards Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage.
The high value contents of AP 86'er 86035 are spotted at Terminal Warehouse under the watchful eyes of the yard master and division sup't. So what's in this jumbo boxcar that came from Marcal in Rock Ridge NJ? Toilet paper! There has been a run on it lately.
A pair of EBRR boxcars loaded with restaurant supplies from C&P Restaurant Supply and NYC 173861 loaded with appliances from Peerless Appliance are also spotted at Terminal Warehouse.
Next we turn our attention to 1/87th scale Robert R and train BP-12 getting a highball from Bedford tower man 1/87th scale John B.
The BP-12 crosses onto the main as it heads to Terminal Yard.
BP-12 brings three auto racks of new Ford products into Terminal Yard.
The yard job gets right to work coupling up the outbound boxcars of auto parts to BP-12 caboose and pulling all cars out of track #2.
We'll cut it here today with 1/87th scale Robert R getting an attaboy and exchanging waybills with the yardmaster while 1/87th scale Kar Knocker finishes his inspection of what will be Train BP-41
We'll pick it up tomorrow with the BP-41 heading out of the Terminal Yard tunnel with more rush cars for the Ford Plant.

Be sure to catch the series as it unfolds on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR

Thanks for reading!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

  1. Nice session John! Your locomotive servicing area reminds me of one the size of Selkirk.

    1. Thank you Robert R!!! The loco facility sits on top of a 24 x 80 hollow core door slab. It's definitely given me much more bang for the buck as the yard bench work than it ever would have as a door!

    Trains are pouring freight cars into Terminal Yard! Great job handling all of the traffic! Gotta echo Robert's comments about your excellent engine yard! Some fast action as cars are already reaching consignees especially the all important 86 footer from Marcal! Excellent pics and roll-by video!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

    Terminal Yard is bulging at the seams! There’s so much freight coming in to Terminal Yard. Nice to see the crew getting some of the freight delivered to the consignees. I hope the ECPD has that 86’ Box Car protected. Bedford Tower operator 1/87th John B. was on his best game today getting all the freight routed.

    Great inbound start!!

      Thank Sir Neal!!! The best way to prevent yard melt down is to keep the freight moving! The 86'er from Marcal was diligently protected and unloaded with it's high value contents secured until shipping to local stores.😉
