Greetings All,
Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #101!!!
Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with the arrival of our inbound Penn Central trains.
The action opens up at Bedford Tower with empty hopper train Extra 4348 that originated at West Mill Yard on the Kings Port Division getting orders from the tower operator to cross over and hold on the Bedford Secondary track.
Extra 4348 meets two symbol trains.
Penn Central Train SP-10 arrives in Terminal Yard.
A short time later Extra 4348 rolls into Terminal Yard. The FP7s from the empty hopper train meet up with the SP-10 power in the engine terminal.
Big Mike and Kar Knocker get together to pull off the cabooses and get the SP-10 and empty hopper train inspected and ready for their next movements.
With the trains inspected and ready for movement Big Mike starts putting together the Penn Central locals that will deliver the PCCM cars to their respective consignees and interchanges.
The empty hoppers get pulled from the arrival / departure track and will be placed on track #7 to the right pending their move to Hudson Coal for their next PCCM coal loads.
Big Mike makes his final moves before going off duty putting together Train BP-41 that will bring three Gulf tank cars loaded with fuel from the west Mill Gulf River Facility to the Bedford Park Ford Plant. Two empty freight cars are placed on each end of the tank cars to act as buffers.
It's that time of night again as the 16A is on duty and bringing a cut of cars out of Yard 'A'.
The 16A makes its moves.
The cars from Train SP-10 are placed in Yard 'A' with the mechanical reefers placed for Perishable Protection Service inspection.

An empty 60' auto parts boxcar protects the engine crew from the tank cars as BPY job makes its next moves.
Robert R brings the BPY job out to Bedford Tower and receives permission to head for Terminal Yard as Train BP-12.
It's another quick turnaround for Robert R as he confers with the 3rd trick car knocker and yard job engineer before heading back to Bedford Park with Train BP-41.
The three loaded tank cars with fuel from the Gulf River Facility in West Mill, NY are shoved towards the Ford Plant tank car track.
The tanks are placed on the tank car track for unloading.
With his PCCM 101 work done we'll leave Robert R getting Bedford Park Yard ready for the next car movements.
Heading over to Water Street in Empire City we catch the Water Street Job beginning its day switching out the REA Ramp and PC Richard Warehouse.
A short time later the Water Street Job now Train WSJ-2 departs Terminal Yard.
We'll cut it here for today with the WSJ waiting for its next call out on the Water Street lead as PC Train #401 heads to Empire City Station.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with the Bedford Turn leaving Terminal Yard and delivering PCCM freight traffic to the local Bedford industries.

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
Great start to your inbound series! A coal drag heading to Terminal Yard being held up by to priority trains was nice to view. You’re making great use of Yard ‘A’ as it’s been running some great local trains. The WSJ-2 job with the 2 yellow Hi-Cube box cars (Thank you Patti-O Paint Shop) stand out and are definitely worth following on a train. Adding that PC E unit passenger train at the end caught my eye.
Top notch Sir John!

I really enjoyed the three train meet with Extra #4348! The Kings Port Railfan Society guys are having a terrific time watching action down in Neal’s Rock Ridge Yard but they would have loved all of the action going on at Terminal Yard once the trains arrived today! Breaking down of incoming trains, transfers and car forwarding by the 16A, quick auto industry related turnaround with BP-12 and BP-41, and the Water Street job kept things humming! The Water Street job has nicely expanded your operations. The move with the COFC to the passenger train was a neat touch. PC Richard has become an important industry. The three yellow Hi Cubes made a distinctive and eye catching delivery. I always enjoy seeing your support ops like the mechanical reefers sent to the Perishable Protection Service inspection track and the consists going to locomotive servicing. They reminds us that there is a lot more to railroading than we often see or think about. Nice work!

DeleteThank you very much PC Ralph!!! Glad to know you enjoy seeing the support ops. While editing the blogposts I sometimes think they are off topic and add more than is necessary. Nice to know they are appreciated!!
