Penn Central Car Movements #97 Part 3 / Conclusion of Holiday Coal Operations

Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #97!!!

Our annual Holiday Coal Operations which feature coal train movements across the Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and my NYCTL concludes today.

Day Three
The action opens with our wreck train returning to Terminal Yard to drop off four flatcars loaded with damaged coal hoppers and get their crane and tender turned for travel back to Selkirk.

The Wreck Train power, caboose, tender and crane have cut from the rest of the train and prepare to run thru the wye in the engine terminal.

Meanwhile the Yard Job gets to work on the rest of the train sorting the wreck train cars and wrecked coal hoppers. That damaged trailer at the shop looks to be repaired and ready to go.

The Yard Job shoves the damaged hoppers into the shop.

Over in North Side Yard our fateful hopper train has been inspected and is ready to depart for Hudson Coal.

The Coal Job rolls back into Bedford NY towards the scene of the crime.

The engines have made a runaround move and are ready to shove the empties towards Hudson Coal.

The Coal Job makes the long pull and shoves in the empties

The empties are spotted and the coal loading resumes.

The Coal Job is back together and prepares to head back to Terminal Yard.

The CJ-2 heads for home.

There must be some magic in that Mingo Junction rock! Alco Joe gets the call for today's Train UB-2A. While not an Alco consist Alco Joe is pleased to close out the PCCM year with the PC-B&O consist and another nice income producing run.

Train UB-2A rolls past Bedford Station

Next stop Selkirk!!!

Be sure to follow the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

This wraps up the 2022 PCCM season. I hope you enjoyed following along. We'll be back at in 2023 as PC Ralph, Sir Neal and I continue to enjoy the virtual interchange of freight cars between our layouts.

BTW that Mingo Jct. rock is actually a piece of brick from the Mingo Jct. roundhouse courtesy of 1:1 Alco Joe.

Happy Holidays to all!!!

Thanks for reading and watching!!!!
See you soon!!!

The wreck train continues to provide interest for local railfans following the derailment at T&R Gravel yesterday! I'm a fan of the loads out/ empties in choreography at Hudson Coal! That's an enjoyable op to watch! More hoppers from Yard A make for a second respectable unit train to Selkirk. Nice roll-bys in the videos! Empire City Station is looking very festive for the Holidays! West Mill wishes the N.Y.C.T.L. and all who work on her the very best of the season!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

It’s a wrap for 22’! The EB crew gets the coal out and resumes normal operations. Kudos to them and the crew of the wreck train. Train UB-2A finally on the move and looks good with that PC/B&O motive power. Of course no op session would be complete without the Beeliner making an appearance. Happy Holidays to the EB crew and Sir John & family!
