Holiday Trackage Rights 2022 / Part 1

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Holiday Trackage Rights 2022 Part 1!

It's that time of the year!! Holiday trackage rights have been granted!!! Today we'll take look at the opening installment of the Holiday Trackage Rights 2022 series.

The H.T.R. 2022 series will focus on some of the trains in the fleet that get their time on the layout during the Holidays as I enjoy some simple and pleasurable railfanning. Come along end enjoy the ride!!

The New York Central Layout E8s will have some foreign road company again this year as the Holiday trains call at both Empire City Station, Terminal Yard and North Side Yard.

Here is a sampling of some of today's trains. Erie Lackawanna Train #7 the Pacific Express waits on track #1. Southern Pacific Train #3 the Golden State Limited sits on track #2. Newly arrived Lehigh Valley Train #38, the John Wilkes occupies track #3.

Tracks one and two are now clear as the LV Alco PAs heading up the John Wilkes wait for the next train to arrive in Empire City Station.

What train will that be?

Thanks for watching!!!
Season's Greetings, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All!!!
More Holiday Traffic Rights coming tomorrow!!!

  1. What a great holiday video! Some classic trains running on the railroad. I'm trying to figure out what road the first E unit is in your opening photograph in blue? Scratching my head on this one. Meanwhile, the railfans look like they came out en masse to see the trains! Great job Sir John!

    1. Thank you very much 1:1 Sir Neal!! The E8A you mentioned is an EMD Demonstrator unit from Proto 2000.

  2. "Its the most wonderful time of the year" to be at Empire City Station! Colorful locomotives and cars from several roads break up the PC black! Trains in several liveries glide into the station. I noticed the Mars light on the SP locomotive. What a treat this series is! Thanks for putting it together!
