Penn Central Car Movements #87 /NYCTL Part 4

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #87!!!

Our two layout virtual operation with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division interchanging freight cars with my New York Central Layout continues today with the arrival of our inbound trains.

Below we catch Train TY-2 (Selkirk - Terminal Yard) rolling thru Empire City towards Bedford and Terminal Yard.

TY-2 rumbles thru Bedford.

The TY-2, powered by ex NYC GP35 #2399 and ex PRR GP35s #2325 and 2327, arrives in Terminal Yard.

The GP35s have cut off from TY-2 and ease up to the engine terminal fuel rack.

SD9s #6921 and #6924 are working the yard job again and pull the caboose from TY-2s freight consist.

Four TOFC flatcars from the KP&W Williams Yard Ramp are shoved into the Terminal Yard ramp for unloading as Train TY-2s freight cars watch from the background.

The yard job starts building the local trains for dispatch from Terminal Yard. The EL, NYC, RI, PC boxcars, Cargill covered hopper and TPW boxcar will be going to Empire City in Train EC-1.

This four car block for the Long Island RR is shoved onto the head end of EC-1 for interchange at the EBRRs North Side Yard.

Three 60' Auto Parts cars for the Bedford Park Ford Plant and LV boxcar #66392 going to American Hardware Supply make up train BP-41 going to Bedford Park.

Train BP-12 from Bedford Park Yard is our first local train today as it heads to Terminal Yard.

Train BP-12 arrives in Terminal Yard on track #8 as the outbound cars for Bedford Park wait on track #7.

The yard job gets to work for a quick turnaround back to Bedford Park by pulling the outbound cars from track #7

The Bedford Park outbound cars are coupled onto the caboose and all the cars will be shoved into track #7.

The S12 couples onto the outbound cars and prepares to take Train BP-41 to Bedford Park. The PC trainmen to Terminal Yard do this quick turnaround at least once a day to keep the Ford Plant humming along.

The BP-41 heads to Bedford Park Yard.

The BP-41 is back in the cozy confines of Bedford Park Yard.

After a run around move the S12 pulls the freight consist back.

NYC, KP&W and PC/TOC auto parts cars from ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY are shoved into the Ford Plant siding.

LV boxcar #66392 loaded with bagged cement from Westcott Concrete is spotted at American Hardware Supply for unloading.

We'll close it out here at Bedford Park Yard with our S12 and caboose tied down awaiting their next call to duty.

We'll pick it up tomorrow back at Terminal Yard starting with the dispatch of the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27.

Be sure to follow the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division!

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    Acknowledge dispatch of BP-12/BP-41

    West Mill out.

I ended my last outbound post wondering what power consist might carry the cars from Selkirk to Terminal Yard. TY-2 does not disappoint with its mixed livery trio of GP35s! They look great on the point of the train and also resting at the engine facilities with those nifty details at the fuel rack. The Yard Job's SD9s with their yellow pre-merger numbers and the NYC S12 #9314 out of Bedford Park take care of the bulk of the work in style! Nice hustle by BP-12 getting to Terminal Yard and by the Terminal Yard Trainmen getting cars ready for the quick turnaround back to Ford!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

That’s one sharp looking trio of Geeps that arrived at Terminal Yard. The NYC on the lead was a nice touch. Now, Train BP-12 highballing it to Terminal Yard was the highlight. That’s one FAST moving train. Didn’t think the S12 had it in her!
