Penn Central Car Movements #82 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 3 /The Bedford Turn

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #82!!!

Our three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR continues today.

We open up at the Penn Central Terminal Yard engine terminal with Alco Joe walking to the power for today's Bedford Turn and GM&O boxcar #21120 getting loaded with empty 55 gallon drums for return to the Gulf River Facility.

The Bedford Turn, Train BT-27, heads out of Terminal Yard.

The first stop is T&R Gravel to pick up eight cars that include NYC boxcar #47062 and EL boxcar #73510 loaded with bagged iron ore for Port Owen Brick.

The eight car string is pulled out of T&R Gravel. The four PC PS-2 covered hoppers are loaded with locomotive sand for the APRR's Richmond Hill Engine Terminal in Rock Ridge NJ.

PRR and NYC hoppers loaded with ballast for the KPD MOW department round out the T&R Gravel shipments as we see Alco Joe bringing the Bedford Turn towards it's next stop.

The BT-27 shoves into the Bedford Industrial Siding to work several industries. Being pulled from the Hostess Plant are an empty Hostess covered hopper for return to Cargill in Rock Ridge NJ and empty PC boxcar #360158 for it's next PCCM load.

The BT-27 shoves back to Berk Enterprises to pull PC boxcar #229036 loaded with printed packages for Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port NY.

Being pulled from University Millwork are empty TPFX boxcar #5510 for return to the BCOL RR at N Vancouver and a trio of empty B&M RBLs for return to the B&M at Merrimack NH.

Alco Joe brings the BT-27 forward to work the Schaefer Brewery. Boxcars IC #30130 and BAR #5226 are loaded with beer for Reynolds Beverage in West Mill NY.

Empty boxcar TP&W #627 is ready to get pulled for it's next PCCM load and gets checked by conductor Murray for cleanliness.

Alco Joe gets the BT-27 back together.

The BT-27 holds on the secondary track at Bedford Station.

The Long Island Transfer passes Bedford Station en route to North Side Yard in Empire City.

Alco Joes makes his runaround move and heads back to Terminal Yard

The BT-27 arrives at Terminal Yard.

Meanwhile Jimmy Alco brings the LIRR Transfer towards North Side Yard

The LIRR train gets ready for the interchange of freight cars.

Jimmy Alco watches Sir Neal finish up the interchange.

With the interchange complete the LIRR heads for home.

A few hours later PC Ralph opens the switch and Sir Neal brings Train EB-4 out of North Side Yard.

EB-4 rumbles thru Bedford towards Terminal Yard.

Train EB-4 arrives at Terminal Yard.

We'll cut it here for today with Sir Neal heading back to North Side Yard caboose lite.

Tomorrow we'll turn it over to the crews and clerks of Terminal Yard to get our outbound trains dispatched.

Be sure to catch the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

T&R Gravel had a particularly busy week! Good for business! Red TPFX #5510, our first virtual ops car, looks good coupled to the blue B&M RBLs! Both are going to be featured in off-layout transfers to be facilitated later by the Kings Port Division. Schaefer Beer lives on thanks to the N.Y.C.T.L.! I like the neat scene with Murray on the transfer caboose checking out the TP&W car! Passengers on the platform are lucky to observe BT-27's runaround move! Nice work all around!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Bedford Station and Interlocking continue to be my favorite spot to railfan the railroad. I see that there was a little maintenance going on the rails with train EB-4? Did I spot a track cleaning car (Chessie Box Car)? It’s really enjoyable watching the trains go thru Bedford! The Richmond Hill Engine Terminal on the A.P.R.R. appreciates T&R Gravel turning those gondolas around quickly!

Thanks for the compliments Sir Neal!! The Chessie boxcar is one of several that I routinely run and mix in with various freights.
