Greetings All,
Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #82!!!
Our three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR continues today.
We open up in Empire City at North Side Yard with PC Ralph running the Empire Belt RR's Morning Industrial Job (MIJ) that serves the local industries.
The MIJ is out of the yard and crossing over to the secondary track to access the industrial spurs.
The MIJ starts their work by switching out the Empire City Cargill. Being pulled are empty Penn Central covered hoppers
and Atlantic Pacific RR covered hoppers that will be forwarded to the Pier 16 silos for their next PCCM loads.
Last but not least coming out of the Cargill spur is Cargill covered hopper TLDX #7241 loaded with wheat flour for Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port NY.
Next move is at Gervais Pipe & Fitting to pull two empty Evans Coil Coaches for return to Kings Port Steel and PC gondola #288673 loaded with pipe going to the HVAC via the KP&W's Williams Yard.
The MIJ has shoved back to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse pull empty P&LE boxcar #35892 for it's next PCCM load.
The work is finished on the east side and
PC Ralph brings the MIJ west.
The MIJ crosses the Empire City viaduct as it heads to access the west side industrial lead.
Now working the west side industries the MIJ couples up to PC boxcar #77047 at Moore & Co that is loaded with burlap bags for Hedberg Aggregates in Marion NY.
The MIJ shoves back to City Pallet to collect PC boxcar #104478 loaded with pallets for Reynolds Beverage in West Mill NY.
The MIJ continues its long shove and pulls this old NYC Pacemaker boxcar from Drywell Inks that is loaded with 55 gal drums of ink for the Catskill Mountain Press in Bloomberg NY.
The work continues on the west side with this NYC Early Bird boxcar pulled from Walsh Steel Wool Products loaded with steel wool for Boom's Ready Mix in West Mill NY.
The final stop on the west side is Superior Furniture to pull AP boxcar #58260 loaded with furniture for 3 Amigos Warehouse in Rock Ridge NJ.PC Ralph has the MIJ back together and holds on the Empire City secondary track as Sir Neal heads for North Side Yard on the main.
After getting clearance to proceed the MIJ is now on the mainline crossing over the High Line and heading to North Side Yard.
The MIJ enters North Side Yard track #3 via the east side lead.
The MIJ is doubled over onto track #2. Both tracks will be cleared when the transfer run to Terminal Yard, Train EB-4 departs.
It's time for the EBRR guys to switch out the power and put the GP9-FA-FA-GP9 consist on the head end of the EB-4.
We'll cut it here today with the guys talking it over and waiting for the LIRR transfer to arrive.
We'll pick it up at the Penn Central Terminal Yard engine terminal tomorrow with Alco Joe getting called for the Bedford Turn as GM&O boxcar #21120 gets loaded with empty 55 gal drums to be returned to the Kings Port River Facility.
We'll also follow the LIRR Transfer to North Side Yard and subsequent run of EBRR Train EB-4 in part 3. Should be fun.
Be sure to catch the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.
Thanks for reading and watching!!!

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
The MIJ EB Geeps handled all those moves with ease. Those engines looked pretty sharp on the High Line. I see that Neal’s Lumber and Hardware is still booming. Are those back-to-back trailers loaded with lumber supplies? It’s a nice scene you created.

DeleteThanks for the compliments Sir Neal!!!! I too liked that photo of the EBRR entering the High Line. Business at Neal's Lumber & Hardware is always booming!!! Those trailers were indeed loaded with lumber supplies and came into Terminal Yard on a TOFC Train.

West Mill out.
The video of the MIJ roll by with the husky GP30s at the point brings to mind the Doobie Brothers hit "Long Train Runnin'" as this is an unusually lengthy job this time around! Once again, I really like the grade crossing view of the action at Cargill. This is a great railfan location! Following the action I'm realizing that several of the large number of cars the N.Y.C.T.L. is needing to move will be coming my way!

DeleteThe MIJ with both PCCM and non PCCM cars was indeed a "Long Train Runnin!" The other side of Cargill has yielded some decent photos. I'm glad to have some new vantage points. Your are quite correct Ralph, many cars are heading your way!
With all those outbounds maybe you'll clear the yard? Every shot is so detailed and the 'wee' people look to be so busy, it's a feast for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteHi Mark!!! The yard will get cleared this round for sure! Ralph and Neal will fill it back up next weekend. Thanks for the compliments!!!
