Penn Central Car Movements #76 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 6 / Bedford & Bedford Park Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #76!

The three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR the inbound portion of the op continues today.

We open up today at the Terminal Yard engine terminal with engine hostler Wet Willie pulling out the motive power for our local trains.

An Alco FA2-GP20 will work the Bedford Turn.

Big Mike sets up an outbound Coal Job for Hudson Coal that includes AP hopper #9416 that will be part of a block of loaded coal hoppers for R.M.O. Electric in a future P.C.C.M.

Next we turn our attention to the cozy confines of Bedford Park Yard where engineer Robert R has reported for duty. He'll start today by clearing out a bunch of non P.C.C.M. cars.

Train BP-12 heads to Terminal Yard

Robert R brings BP-12 into Terminal Yard.
The BP-12 engine and caboose run thru the engine terminal wye.
Back in the yard Robert R digs out the cars he needs for immediate delivery to the Ford Plant and PC 160502 going to All City Storage.

Robert R reclaims his caboose and conductor and heads out Terminal Yard as Train BP-41.

Train BP-41 heads back to Bedford Park

Back in the confines of Bedford Park Yard the first move is to pull two empty tank cars from the Ford Plant tank car track.

Two Gulf tankers of gasoline from the Gulf Kings Port River Facility are spotted.

PC boxcar 160502 loaded with stored materials from Battaglia Brothers Warehouse is spotted at All City Storage.

Robert has the small Bedford Park Yard in order. Now it's time to work the Ford Plant.

Four 60' boxcars of auto parts from ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY are pulled into Bedford Park for a runaround move.

After the run around move the 60'ers are shoved into the Ford Plant.

The 60' boxcars are now spotted.

Robert R ties down his Alco in the yard and breaks for lunch.

Meanwhile over at Terminal Yard Alco Joe reports for the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27 and gets ready to board Alco FA2 #1049.

Train BT-27 rolls into Bedford

Alco Joe does the long pull in the Bedford Industrial Siding.

PC boxcar 229046 joins LV / NIRX 41000 at Berk Enterprises for their next P.C.C.M. loads.

Three covered hoppers of flour from the large Rock Ridge NJ Cargill Plant are spotted at Hostess / Wonder Bread.

The Bedford Turn pulls loaded cars from the H&N siding.

NYC Hi Cube #173861 loaded with new tall neck 12 oz bottles from Corning Glass is spotted at Heileman's Brewery.

Empty BAR boxcar #5226 is spotted at Neubaum's Coffee & Tea for it's next P.C.C.M. load.

Alco Joe makes the run around move passing the "shooting star" P&E boxcar proclaiming it's "Quicker via Peoria"

The engines couple up and it's time to go.

BT-27 heads home.

We'll close it out here with Alco Joe bringing the GP20-FA2 into the sanding rack and assuring engine hostler Wet Willie that a bottle of Cavendish Single Malt is his if he keeps up the good work with the engine assignments.

Be sure to catch the P.C.C.M. #76 action on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

The KPD sent a lot of cars for Ford in this series and the crew of BP-41 dealt with them handily. Neat to see the Ford tank track accommodating a newer virtual ops move with the Gulf tankers! Speaking of fuel I really like the Terminal Yard engine scene with the Jade Green tanks at the wye. The NYC equipment in front of it makes a nice photo. The NYC boxcar in front of Hostess reminds me of the old entertainment question "Will it play in Peoria?". The efficiency of N.Y.C.T.L. crews would play anywhere! Very much liking the FA/GP20 pre-merger consist!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Move em’ out! That’s what the N.Y.C.T.L. crew made happen today. I guess Alco Joe liked the engines he ran today, as by the comment he made to Wet Willie (was that supposed to be a bribe?). The string of 60’ auto parts box cars heading into Ford look very impressive. Spotting cars at Hostess has to be a tough job, with the aroma of the bread being baked, an engineer can get full just on the aroma! The photo of BP-12 engine and caboose look great, especially where you see both PC & NYC logos in the fuel area.
