Penn Central Car Movements #76 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 4 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #76

The outbound portion of our  three layout virtual op with my New York Central Train Layout interchanging freight cars with 1:1 PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad concludes today with the dispatch of our outbound trains.

We pick up the action in the Terminal Yard engine terminal with engine hostler Wet Willie getting ready to pull out the power for  outbound Unit Coal Train UAN-2 to Selkirk.

The engines are coupled on, the air test is done and it's time to go!

The Unit Coal Train rumbles past Bedford Station.
Next stop Selkirk!

Back at Terminal Yard three loaded PC covered hoppers loaded at the Pier 16 Grain Silos with grain for the Rock Ridge Cargill Plant are hustled over to beat the deadline for outbound Train SK-5.

The PC covered hoppers are coupled into Train SK-5.

A short time later PC Train SK-5 (Terminal Yard to Selkirk) departs.

SK-5 rolls past Bedford Station

Next Stop Selkirk!

Engine hostler Wet Willie prepares to pull out the power of our last outbound train.

Three U23Cs going to Selkirk for their monthly inspections will power Train SK-7 (Terminal Yard to Selkirk)

Train SK-7 passing Bedford Station

Next stop Selkirk!

Be sure to follow the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!

We'll reconvene for the P.C.C.M.76 Inbound portions starting on or about Friday September 18th.

    West Mill out.

BIG power on the long unit coal train! The video of UAN-2 was classic railroad action as those loaded hoppers rolled by! The train of hoppers for the KPD from Selkirk will be shorter after the hoppers for Ravena are cut but as we always say, "there's nothing like a coal train!" Neat mixed consist on SK-5! U23Cs looking good on SK-7. Too bad they won't reach the KPD as they are slated for inspection. We'll see what power Selkirk comes up with to move the cars to Williams Yard and West Mill! Great wrap up of the outbounds!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

There’s money in them coal, as they used to say! Very nice. The AP is ready to receive the inbound and will get the train handed off to the AP crew so the engines will return back to Selkirk. Reports show that a pair of U25 engines are on standby to bring Train SK-5 to Weehawken.

The AP would like to thank both crews in West Mill and Terminal Yard for blocking the cars as they head out. Let’s hope the Selkirk crew leaves it intact on the hand off.
