Penn Central Car Movements #73 / NYCTL Part 7 / The LIRR Closes It Out

Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movement series #73!!

This three layout virtual op with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR interchanging freight cars with my N.Y.C.T.L. concludes today with the dispatch of PC train EC-3, the Empire Belt RR Afternoon Industrial Job and the Long Island Railroad Transfer Run.

We start our final installment at the Terminal Yard engine terminal with 1/87th scale Alco Joe telling hostler Wet Willie there is a new Alco guy in town so make sure I get these Centuries for Train EC-3
Wet Willie comes thru and the Alco Centuries are coupled up to EC-3. Alco Joe gets the OK from Kar Knocker that the train is good to go.

Catch EC-3 rolling past Bedford Station

Due to yard congestion EC-3 comes thru the west side reverse curve.
1/87th scale Conductor Murray protects the shove.
1/87th scale Alco Joe and conductor Murray are greeted by the EBRR Trainmen after leaving EC-3 on the industrial track.
EC-3 heads back to Terminal Yard caboose lite.
As the day grows long and their hours of service dwindle the E.B.R.R. guys get together to close this virtual op out today.
1/87th scale Sir Neal runs the Afternoon Industrial Job and couples up to the EC-3 freight cars.
1/87th scale PC Ralph works to get the yard in order. Hohman Ave motorists will be inconvenienced but it can't be helped right now.
PC Ralph has the yard in good shape as Sir Neal brings the EC-3 freight cars up to pass the switch about four cars back.
A trio of empty AP Gons from EC-3 have been left on the main for PC Ralph to pick up
After picking up the gons three non PCCM cars going to the LIRR will be spotted for Sir Neal to couple up to.
North Side Yard is full! 1/87th scale Sir Neal brings EC-3 and the rest of the LIRR interchange cars into track 3. He'll be picking up the three empty gons, white boxcar and caboose on track 1 next.
Now out of the yard and shoving down the main the Afternoon Industrial Job gets to work.
The AIJ crosses over to the industry track.
First stop is Neal's Lumber and Hardware to pull out both the NYC Early Bird car and AP RBL that have been emptied and reloaded with their next P.C.C.M. loads.
AP RBL 60358 loaded with plywood veneers from Mike's Lumber in Rock Ridge NJ is spotted at Neal's Lumber & Hardware.
Two empty Evans coil coaches are pulled from Gervais Pipe. They'll go back to Kings Port Steel in a future P.C.C.M.
Three empty APRR gondolas are spotted at Gervais Pipe & Fitting for their next P.C.C.M. loads.
1/87th scale Sir Neal is out of the cab watching PC Ralph shove the long cut of cars for the LIRR east out of the yard to facilitate an easy interchange. Sir Neal will put the AIJ on track 1 when PC Ralph finishes and is in the clear.

Here comes the L.I.R.R. Transfer Train

Two Alco RS units lead the LIRR train into North Side Yard
The EBRR trainmen greet the newest 1/87th scale engineer working the layout, Jimmy Alco, aka Smokey ALCO from Long Island. Jimmy's been a long time youtube subscriber and we've enjoyed exchanging modeling info over the years. Welcome Aboard Jimmy!
Jimmy Alco couples up to the outbound freight cars.
PC Ralph tacks on the caboose.
The LIRR transfer waits for clearance from the Hohman Ave Tower.

Catch the LIRR departing North Side Yard.

PC Ralph once again cuts off on the fly!
The LIRR train rolls thru midtown.

Catch the LIRR rolling thru Bedford.

Put it in the books!!!
1/87th scale Jimmy Alco brings the LIRR train back to it's home rails completing his first virtual ops revenue run and wrapping up P.C.C.M. #73!!! Nice work Jimmy!
Be sure to follow the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR!

Going, Going, Gone! See Ya! Welcome Jimmy Alco to the EBRR family! The crew on train EC-3 had some great moves assisting in the yard. Pairing up the LIRR engines with both EBRR and APRR reefers was a nice touch and reminded me of my Long Island days chasing trains in the Garden City freight yard. Great P.C.C.M. series!

Alco fans enjoyed this one! A special welcome to "Smokey Alco"! I had a chance to follow the link and watch some of his good looking videos. Three Centuries on EC-3 running with power to North Side Yard where cooperative work between the big three consist and the pair of GP30s takes care of business! Nice shots of the new bay window caboose! Excellent switching in the photos and nice video run bys! I especially liked standing on the platform to watch EC-3 go past! Terrific finale to this series, thank you!
