Penn Central Car Movements #72 / NYCTL Part 6 / The Inbound Cycle Continues

Greetings All,

Welcome back to the Penn Central Car Movements #72!!

The P.C.C.M. #72 three layout virtual with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with the deliveries of our inbound freight trains.

BP-41 rolls thru the Terminal Yard tunnel as it pulls a block of rush cars from ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY towards the Bedford Park Ford Plant.
BP-41 engineer 1/87th scale Robert R gets a wave from John B at Bedford Tower as he enters the cozy confines of Bedford Park.
After a very tight run around move Robert R brings the auto parts boxcars back out onto the Bedford Park Yard lead.
The four hot cars from ACME Auto Parts are delivered!
After tying down his Alco S4 and caboose 1/87th scale Robert R brings his waybills to the yard office and to await his next call out.
Over at the Terminal Yard engine terminal 1/87th scale Alco Joe and conductor Murray are going old school Alco today. Hostler Wet Willie has a trio of early Alcos ready to go.
The Alcos are assigned to a combination Bedford Turn and Empire City Transfer (BT-27 - EC-1) that will run as Extra 9909 with special instructions for the return trip from North Side Yard.
1/87th scale Alco Joe brings Extra 9909 into Bedford NY to work Berk Enterprises and University Mill Work in the background.
Extra 9909 makes a long shove to grab eight cars from the Bedford Industrial siding. 1/87th scale Alco Joe and conductor Murray have a lot of switch work to do and it will all be done safely & correctly.
About an hour later 1/87th scale Alco Joe and Conductor Murray leave the Bedford siding with TP&W boxcar #627 going to Heileman Brewery in tow.
The TP&W boxcar loaded with shipping cartons from Canton Box in West Mill NY is spotted at the brewery and ready for unloading.
When the Alco smoke cleared in the Bedford siding empty PC boxcar 229046 was spotted at Berk for it's next PCCM load. PC 142770 was placed back at the Berk loading dock so it could continue being loaded with it's next PCCM load.
University Mill Work is straightened out with AP 50 RBL 58260  back for continued loading and TPFX 5510 spotted for unloading.
With all that done 1/87th scale Alco Joe brings Extra 9909 off the Bedford Secondary and onto the mainline for Empire City.
Extra 9909 crosses the Empire City viaduct.
1/87th scale Alco Joe brings Extra 9909 into the Empire Belt RR's North Side Yard thru the Hohman Ave entrance passing a train of steel bridge supports and beams on track #3.
1/87th scale Sir Neal, PC Ralph and the rest of the EBRR crew greet Alco Joe and conductor Murray and exchange waybills.
The three Alcos are brought back to the Hohman Ave entrance.
1/87th scale Sir Neal shoves a block of boxcars to couple up to the Alcos passing the train of steel beams and bridge supports that have been sitting in the yard for several days.
The bridges and beams from Medford Steel on the LIRR were finally accepted by the Penn Central's Clearance Bureau with the caveat that the PC handle the train from here.
We'll cut it here for today with conductor Murray's caboose getting tacked on.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with newly designated Extra 9921 heading back to Terminal Yard with a long train  that includes the steel beams and bridge supports..

Be sure to catch the series as it unfolds on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and

Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR

Thanks for reading!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out!

The auto industry can be demanding at times requiring rush cars but BP-41 has it covered! That's a nice op by itself. Extra 9909 must be a railfan favorite around town with the three Alcos at the head end pulling a lot of cars to switch! The surprise beam and and bridge supports loads are interesting and will require careful handling! Looking forward to see what Extra 9921 does with them!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Great work getting the hot cars over to the Ford Plant! Kudos to the BP-41 crew! Very interesting that you’ve created some ‘Extra” trains to work within the yards, nice touch. Looks like you’ve created some interesting loads to be delivered to consignees in and around the system. Very nice!
