Penn Central Car Movements # 83 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 5 / PC Local Trains Deliver

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #83!!!

The Inbound cycle of our three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR continues today.

We open up today at Terminal Yard with Big Mike running the yard job and setting the field for our local trains.

Big Mike starts to work the freight consist from yesterday's TY-2. In the background empty EBRR and PC boxcars were put into trains EC-1 and BT-27 while some of the FAST 50 auto parts cars are ready to go when called for by the Ford Plant.

Big Mike has the TY-2 broken down and blocked into trains EC-1 and BT-27. The blocking of cars at Rock Ridge, West Mill and Selkirk has streamlined today's yard operations. The yard job is now shoving a block of cars to Terminal Warehouse and Cold Storage.

Spotted for unloading at Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage are PC Hi Cube boxcar #272742 loaded with appliances from Peerless Appliance and AP boxcar #58279 loaded with restaurant supplies from C&P Restaurant Supply.

NPM 50' reefer #473 and EL 57' reefer #5034 loaded with frozen foods from ShopRite are spotted for unloading.

BAR 57' reefer #11128 making its virtual ops debut today is loaded with potatoes from Maine Potato Growers Assn and rounds out the block of cars being spotted at Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage.
Over in the engine terminal Alco Joe has been called for today's EC-1, a daily transfer run to North Side Yard, and verifies with engine hostler Wet Willie that he will be running this Alco set.

The EC-1 leaves Terminal Yard for Empire City's North Side Yard.

Alco Joe has brought the EC-1 into North Side Yard and checks in with the Empire Belt crew.

After reclaiming his caboose and conductor Murray Alco Joe heads back to Terminal Yard caboose lite.

Over at Terminal Yard train BT-27, the Bedford Turn, heads out.

The Bedford Turn arrives in Bedford

The BT-27 shoves into the Bedford Industrial Siding.

Empty Penn Central boxcar #142770 is spotted at Berk Enterprises for its next PCCM load.

A Hostess covered hopper loaded with flour from the Rock Ridge NJ Cargill Complex gets spotted at the Hostess Plant.

The BT-27 is back together and ready to head for home.

We'll cut it here for today with the Bedford Turn returning to Terminal Yard with Kar Knocker out and ready to inspect the train.

We'll pick it up tomorrow with action at Bedford Park Yard and North Side Yard.

Penn Central Car Movements # 83 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 4 / The FAST 50 Starts the Inbound Cycle

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #83!!!

The Inbound cycle of our three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR begins today.

The caprice of the Rail Traffic Management Form is once again on full display. Auto parts traffic will be handled via train FAST 50 (Ford Auto Service Train). General merchandise for Empire City and Bedford will be handled in train TY-2. A third train, LI-2, will handle the large amount of traffic for the Long Island Railroad. All trains will be running from Selkirk to Terminal Yard with the LI-2 running intact to North Side Yard

The FAST 50 flies thru Empire City powered by four GE U-boats. Management tries to keep Ford happy by keeping EMD engines from this train.

The FAST 50 heads thru Empire City and onto the High Line

The FAST 50 arrives at Terminal Yard.

The U-Boats have been cut from the train and are spotted at the engine terminal fuel rack.

Big Mike is once again working the yard job and is pulling the caboose from the FAST 50 as Kar Knocker stands by to inspect the train.

Loaded EBRR, NYC and PRR auto parts cars from ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY are blocked with a pair of Evans coil coaches loaded with steel coils from Kings Port Steel for delivery to the Bedford Park Ford Plant.

Loaded EBRR and APRR auto parts cars from IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ are blocked for delivery to the Bedford Park Ford Plant. The delivery of these rolling warehouses is carefully choreographed by Ford and the PC.

Train BP-12 brings non PCCM empties from the
Ford Plant to Terminal Yard

Kar Knocker inspects train BP-12 with empty non PCCM freight cars from the Ford Plant as it comes into Terminal Yard.

Kar Knocker and Big Mike have BP-41 ready to go and Robert R makes the fast turnaround back to the Bedford Park Ford Plant. Everyone working for the NYCTL knows not to delay the BP-41!

Train BP-41 heads to Bedford Park Yard

The BP-41 comes back into Bedford Park.

Steel coil cars from Kings Port Steel get delivered to the Ford Plant steel track.

The auto parts cars from ACME Auto Parts are pulled into Bedford Park for Robert R to make a run around move.

After making the runaround move the EBRR, NYC and PRR auto parts cars are shoved into the Ford siding for unloading.

Robert R ties up his engine in Bedford Park Yard and awaits the next callout.

Meanwhile over in Empire City Train TY-2 from Selkirk is heading towards Terminal Yard with freight cars for the PC and EBRR.

Train TY-2 heads thru Empire City and onto the High Line

TY-2 comes into Terminal Yard five F7s strong.

The TY-2 EMD engines join the FAST 50 GEs at the fuel rack as a set of Alco engines look on.

We'll cut it here for today with Big Mike and Kar Knocker working the inbound trains from Selkirk and Bedford Park.

Be sure to catch the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Penn Central Car Movements #83 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 3 Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #83!!!

The outbound portions of this virtual op, a three layout affair with my NYCTL interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR, concludes today.

We start our final installment of the Outbound Portion of PCCM 83 at Terminal Yard with Big Mike and Kar Knocker working to organize the yard to receive and dispatch our outbound trains.

Four loaded ballast hoppers for the APRR MOW at Rock Ridge Yard get coupled to a caboose as Big Mike builds train SK-5 that will take freight cars for the Atlantic Pacific RR.

Empty auto parts cars, Gulf tank cars and KP&W PS2 and PC PS2 hoppers loaded with lime for Port Owen Brick are being blocked for train SK-7 that will take cars for the Kings Port Division and Kings Port & Western RR.

PC boxcar #360158 loaded with TV cabinets for Zenith and TPW boxcar #627 loaded with printed labels for Van Winkle Canning are put into Block #5 of SK-7 that takes cars for Bloomberg NY.

Over at North Side Yard PC Ralph is preparing to depart for Terminal Yard with a good sized EBRR Train EB-2. Senior engineer Sir Neal and PC Ralph discuss today's tonnage and decide the EBRR U23Cs that were built for heavy drag service should be able to handle the EB-2 without helpers.

The EB-2 rumbles thru Bedford toward Terminal Yard

The EB-2 rolls into Terminal Yard. Helpers! Who needs helpers!!

PC Ralph and his brakeman conductor are ready to head back to North Side Yard caboose lite but stop first to chat with Big Mike, Kar Knocker and the yardmaster to discuss the pulling power of the U23CS which are on display and the current state of affairs for PCCM 83.

Kar Knocker has completed his inspection and Big Mike couples his U23Cs up to the cars brought in on train EB-2. The empty Tropicana RBL will be heading back to Tropicana in Rock Ridge NJ in train SK-5.

NYC covered hopper #892010 loaded with flour for Freihofer's Bakery joins the Tropicana RBL and a trio of gondolas loaded with pipe for Shapeless Steel in train SK-5.

Big Mike is now blocking train SK-7. EBRR #360279 is loaded with processing machines for IBM, RI #35062 is loaded with bulk hardware for IBM in Binghamton NY which will be block #2. The LV NIRX is empty heading back to the LV via the KP&W and will be in block #1.

More blocking on SK-7 has the P&LE #35892 and NYC #80775 loaded with bulk hardware and appliance parts for Peerless Appliance in Mayfield NY being put into block #6.

Big Mike now turns his attention to the yard limits movements and pulls APRR covered hoppers from the Pier 16 Silos loaded with grain for Rock Ridge Cargill.

Three PC covered hoppers join the APRR covered hoppers heading to Rock Ridge Cargill with grain loads from the Pier 16 Silos.

The six covered hoppers are placed in train SK-5.

Next move for Big Mike is to pull empty PC boxcar #142770 and empty EBRR boxcars #416035 and #416079 from Terminal Warehouse for their next PCCM loads.

The PC and EBRR empties are placed in the yard and will head out in local trains for loading in the Inbound portion of this op.

Engine hostler Wet Willie has coupled on the power for train SK-5 and Kar Knocker gets the train ready to go.

Train SK-5 heads thru Bedford for Selkirk with freight cars for
the APRR Rock Ridge Yard

Next stop Selkirk!!!

Wet Willie has the SK-7 power coupled on and Kar Knocker is ready to clear the train.

Train SK-7 heads thru Bedford for Selkirk with freight cars for the Penn Central Kings Port Division and Kings Port & Western RR

Next Stop Selkirk!!!!

That wraps up the NYCTL outbound portion!!!!
