Penn Central Car Movements #110 Part 3 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #110
Our three layout virtual op with my layout interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today in East Bedford at the B&O 16th Street  Yard and the PC Terminal Yard where we will dispatch our our outbound trains.

The action starts at the B&O 16th Street Yard where a pair of GP35s are getting ready to make a transfer run to nearby Terminal Yard.
The B&O Transfer heads to Terminal Yard.
The B&O crew collects the PCCM interchange traffic from Terminal Yard and shoves it into track #9 to couple onto the caboose.
Non PCCM appliance traffic is left on track #8A as the B&O crew pulls six PCCM 57' Reefers from Birdseye.
The PCCM APRR and EBRR 57' reefers are delivered to Terminal Yard for movement to C&P Restaurant Supply in Rock Ridge, NJ.
The non PCCM appliance traffic is delivered to Montgomery Ward.
The B&O GP35s pull four PCCM TOFC flatcars from the Terminal Yard Ramp.
The Four PCCM TOFC flatcars are delivered to Terminal Yard for movement to the KP&W Williams Yard Ramp.
The B&O Transfer heads to 16th Street Yard with 14 empty PCCM freight cars heading to their next PCCM loads.
The B&O shoves to 16th Street Yard.
The B&O GP35s tie down back in their 16th Street Yard.
Over in Terminal Yard Big Mike is back on duty and confers with the yardmaster.
Big Mike starts building Train SK-5 that will take PCCM traffic for the Kings Port Division to Selkirk. IC boxcar 30130 is heading to Cavendish Food & Spirits in Mayfield NY. LV boxcar 66392 is heading to Amalgamated Container also in Mayfield, NY.
Big Mike has finished with the SK-5 build and turns the train over to Kar Knocker. The Triangle Pacific and Dresser Magcobar boxcars will be cut from the train at Selkirk for movement to the Northwest and southwest to their next PCCM loads.
While Kar Knocker deals with the SK-5 Big Mike starts to work on the PCCM freight consist heading to Selkirk with PCCM traffic for the Atlantic Pacific RR which is designated Train SK-7.
Meanwhile over at the North Side Yard office a panicked call has just come in from Gervais Pipe & Fitting requesting a big favor for a quick pick up of four PCCM gondolas loaded with pipe.
PC Ralph and conductor Rocky head over to the H16-44s parked on the Haydon Heights lead. Back at the office a call is being made to the Terminal Yard yardmaster to tell him about the situation.
The H16-44s couple onto the pipe laden gondolas at Gervais Pipe & Fitting. Seems their crane was out of service earlier in the day and the cars were not loaded and ready for pick up until just now.
With the gondolas coupled up to the engines conductor Rocky heads over to the Quaker Plant to inquire if the two non PCCM BCK boxcars are empty and ready for movement.
PC Ralph has the four PCCM gondolas and two boxcars on the Belt Line. One boxcar will remain in front of the caboose and the other behind the engines for crew protection at both ends of the train.
Back at Terminal Yard Train SK-5 is ready to depart for Selkirk.
Train SK-5 departs Terminal Yard.
The SK-5 rolls thru Bedford where it will meet EBRR Extra 7698.
Next stop Selkirk!!!
Back in Terminal Yard the EBRR guys couple onto their caboose after beating the cut off time for the PCCM gondolas to be included in Train SK-7. Truth be told I think the yardmaster extended the cut off time a bit and Big Mike worked a little slower to make sure the PCCM gondolas were included in the train.
Now's a good time to fuel the H16-44s. Fill em up Willie!!
Big Mike and Kar Knocker get together to inspect the Extra 7698 freight cars and resume building Train SK-7.
The PCCM gondolas are blocked into the SK-7 for movement to Shapeless Steel in Rock Ridge, NJ.
Big Mike finishes building Train SK-7. The empty Tropicana RBL is heading to the Tropicana Plant and the empty Hostess covered hopper is heading to Cargill, both in Rock Ridge, NJ where they will receive their next PCCM loads.
The SK-7 power is coupled on. The APRR GP38-2 #358 known locally as "The Sir Neal" is in the rocking chair and is celebrating its 10 year anniversary in PCCM service. Man, where did the decade go!
Train SK-7 departs Terminal Yard.
Train SK-7 rolls thru Bedford.
Next stop Selkirk!!!
This wraps up the outbound portion of PCCM 110 on the NYCTL. Be sure to catch all the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you Friday for the Inbound Portion!!!

I'm a big fan of the newer interchange op between the B&O at 16th St. Yard and the PC's Terminal Yard! The blue GP35s are a nice addition to the action!

The EBRR Extra called to serve an urgent request by Gervais was a neat move that was efficiently handled to get the cars to Terminal Yard on time to be included on SK-7! Whew! Ten years of service by the "Sir Neal" APRR GP38-2 is a notable achievement! The orange unit looks splendid in consist with the rest of the black locomotives. Speaking of consists I enjoyed the F7A&B units included on the point of SK-5! Great stuff all around! The KPD anticipates a lot of work coming their way via Selkirk!

    Rock Ridge Yard out!!

The action never stops! The 16th St. Yard is a big player in moving freight for both inbound and outbound industries. Big Mike and Kar Knocker made sure both trains departed on time, especially with the last-minute inbound gondola cars for the APRR.

Congratulations to the NYCTL crew in celebrating 10 years with the APRR GP38-2 #358. The APRR crew in Rock Ridge salutes the crew!!

Thank you very much Sir Neal!!! The B&O 16th Street Yard ops have become one of favorites. The APRR 358 10 years of PCCMs is a testament to the ops and close relation between the NYCTL and the APRR.
