Penn Central Car Movements #110 Part 1 / The Outbound Cycle Begins

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #110
Our second PCCM of 2025 will be a full strength three layout virtual op with my layout interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division. Lets get right to it!!

We open PCCM 110 at Bedford Park Yard with engineer Robert R getting ready to mount his trusted stead, in this case Alco RS11 7608.
Robert R gets right to work at American Hardware Supply pulling Rock Island boxcar 35062 loaded with bulk hardware for IBM in Binghamton, NY and Lehigh Valley boxcar 66392 loaded with paint products for Amalgamated Container (ACCO) in Mayfield, NY.
A shove move into the All City Storage siding retrieves empty New York Central boxcar 47063 plus one for movement to their next PCCM loads.
The tiny confines of Bedford Park has caused many headaches for engineers and conductors. Veteran engineer Robert R is showing how to work this tight space by placing the four cars recently pulled in the yard before moving onto the next siding.
The 7608 is at the Ford Plant Steel Track pulling two empty KP&W coil coaches for movement back to Kings Port Steel and their next PCCM loads.
Time to start putting Train BP-12 together to get these freight cars to Terminal Yard for movement to their destinations.
Now he's just showing off!!! The empty non PCCM PRR boxcar is spotted at American Hardware for its next load.
Robert R brings the BP-12 out to Bedford Tower to get clearance to proceed to Terminal Yard.
The BP-12 is on the move!!
The BP-12 arrives in Terminal Yard.
The Terminal Yard crew has the freight consist that will be Train BP-41 ready to go as Robert checks in with Big Mike and Kar Knocker.
Train BP-41 heads back to Bedford Park with non PCCM freight traffic.
We'll cut the BP-41 here as it delivers non PCCM freight traffic to the Ford Plant and head back to Terminal Yard to catch our next PCCM train.
Back in Terminal Yard Alco Joe has been called for Train BT-27 /BT-28 (The Bedford Turn). Kar Knocker has the freight consist ready to go.
Train BT-27 departs Terminal Yard.
The first stop of the BT-27 is T&R Gravel to pull NYC boxcar 47062 loaded with bagged iron ore for Port Owen Brick and to place empty APRR hopper car 9416 for its next PCCM load.
Train BT-27 proceeds to Bedford.
Alco Joe starts his work at Neubaum's Importers pulling IC boxcar 30130 loaded with imported tea for Cavendish Food & Spirits in Mayfield, NY.
The BT-27 is now working the Schaefer Brewery spotting two APRR boxcars for their next PCCM loads.
The BT-27 continues its work at the Hostess Plant pulling empty an empty Hostess covered hopper and three APRR covered hoppers for movement to their next PCCM loads.
It's a busy day in Bedford!! Alco Joe has shoved back to collect PC boxcar 229046 loaded with printed labels for Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port NY. Four empty TP&W RBLs are pulled from University Millwork for movement to their next PCCM loads.
The Bedford Turn is back together on the secondary track as Alco Joe awaits clearance to access the mainline and make his runaround move.
The BT-27 power holds on the secondary for a mainline freight train.
The runaround move completed Train BT-28 prepares to return to Terminal Yard.
The BT-28 heads back to Terminal Yard. (Eventually!!)
Alco Joe brings the Bedford Turn into Terminal Yard.
The engines have been placed at the fuel rack. "Fill em up Willie"!!!
Big Mike running the yard job today with a set of GE U23Cs converses with Kar Knocker who is is ready to blue flag and inspect the BP-12 and BT-28 freight consists.
Over in Empire City the forgotten WSJ-1 is pulling three empty Hi Cube boxcars from PC Richard for movement to their next PCCM loads.
The Water Street Job holds on the Water Street lead with one EBRR and two APRR Empty Hi Cubes.
Several trains pass RA Tower and out intrepid photographer caught Train HN-2 out of Terminal Yard heading towards the Bronx.
After a pretty long wait the Water Street Job has been permitted to cross onto the eastbound main and head back to Terminal Yard as Train WSJ-2.

The WSJ-2 arrives back in Terminal Yard.
We'll cut it here for today with the three Hi Cubes shoved into track #7 for movement to North Side Yard and interchange with the LIRR.
We'll pick it up tomorrow in North Side Yard with a special guest visiting the Empire Belt RR.
This wraps up part one on the NYCTL. Be sure to catch all the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

That was a lot of great opening action with a nice mix of short hotshot trains serving the auto industry and long Turns that had plenty of work to perform, and excellent train meets! I noticed a nice variety of good looking open car loads with pipes, auto frames, cable spools, heavy industry vehicles, stacked lumber, etc! The NH units seen on the commuter and HN-2 were a treat. The fairly new Water Street Job continues to add a lot of interest to the ops and look at al of the Hi Cubes in this installment! The bevy of rolling stock on the N.Y.C.T.L. is always impressive but I really like the red TP&W RBLs! What a great way to start the day railfanning in Empire City!

    Rock Ridge Yard out!!

Another great start to the lates PCCM!
Bedford Yard was the centerpiece of today’s jobs with local freight being picked up as well as 3 Selkirk trains heading out from Terminal Yard.
There’s some nice train moves that happened including the action by Hostess and Ford. Moving cars for their next PCCM while pulling PCCM cars adds to all of the action and realism of a real railroad.
Too bad the PC can’t take lessons from the EBRR crew!

    Great work Sir John!!
