Penn Central Car Movements #103 Part 1

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #103!!!
We're back in action for year nine of our virtual operations! We open up our first PCCM of 2024 with a three layout virtual op with my layout interchanging freight traffic with Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR. It's good to be back at the throttle!!!
Disclaimer:
I used my phone camera for the opening shots so the angles and photo sizes will be different. I wasn't happy with how the photos and videos uploaded but the train had already left the station. Towards the end of this post I switched back to my tried and true camera.

Ex NYC GP30 #2197 leads train VN-4 from Selkirk past Bedford Tower.
The VN-4 rumbles thru Bedford.
Train VN-4 arrives at Terminal Yard.
The VN-4 power arrives at the fuel pad.
Engineer Big Mike is back running today's yard job and Kar Knocker returns to handle the inspections of trains arriving and departing Terminal Yard.
Big Mike shoves the VN-4 caboose into the caboose track and pulls a pair of cabooses to set the field for the local trains that will be built from the VN-4 freight cars.
After setting up the cabooses Big Mike starts working the TOFC ramp.
TOFC traffic from VN-4 is placed on the left and a block of TOFC cars get pulled out from the track on the right.
Part of that block are four Penn Central PCCM TOFC flatcars that will be heading to the Kings Port & Western Railroad's Williams Yard in Kings Port, NY.
The PC TOFC flatcars are shoved into track #2 for their next movements to Selkirk and the Kings Port Division.
Steel and auto parts for the Bedford Park Ford Plant are placed in track #7.
Lots to see in this photo!! Big Mike pulls a block of cars for Bedford industries.
The Bedford block is shoved into track #5.
Over in Bedford Park Yard engineer Robert R is back on the job and heading to the ex PRR RS1 assigned to Bedford Park this series.
Robert R's first move is to pick up PC boxcar #160502 at American Hardware Supply loaded with bulk hardware for International Business Machines(IBM) in Binghamton NY.
The Bedford Park Yard job pulls a pair of non PCCM steel cars from the Ford Plant.
Next stop Ford Plant track #1 to pull out three 60' empty auto parts boxcars.
The NYC, KP&W and PC/TOC cars are heading back to ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield, NY for their next PCCM loads.
Robert R heads towards Bedford Tower for clearance to run to Terminal Yard as Train BP-12.
Train BP-12 heads to Terminal Yard.
The BP-12 arrives in Terminal Yard and is greeted by the yardmaster and Kar Knocker.
Robert R has coupled his RS1 onto the freight cars going to Bedford Park and confers with Kar Knocker and the yardmaster prior to departing the yard as Train BP-41.
The BP-41 rolls thru Bedford back to Bedford Park Yard.
We'll leave Robert R to deliver the non PCCM freight cars to the Ford Plant and head back to Terminal Yard.
1:87 Alco Joe and conductor Murray are back for 2024 and are called for the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27. After a quick adjustment engine hostler Wet Willie starts the year with two ex NYC Alcos powering the BT-27.
The Bedford Turn departs Terminal Yard.
The BT-27 gets to work pulling one TP&W and two APRR boxcars from Hostess loaded with baked goods for C&P Restaurant Supply in Rock Ridge, NJ.
Next move is at Berk Enterprises. PC boxcar #229046 and LV/NIRX boxcar #41000 are loaded with printed packaging materials for Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port, NY.
Now at University Millwork empty B&M RBLs #105, #109, #110 are pulled out for return to the B&M at Merrimack, NH.
The BT-27 is now working the Schaefer Brewery pulling four loaded boxcars of beer including the HRC boxcar that is heading to Reynolds Beverage in West Mill, NY.
Alco Joe has the BT-27 freight cars and caboose back together and waits for clearance to enter the mainline to make his runaround move.
Train VN-6 passes the BT-27power as it heads to Terminal Yard on the mainline.
Back to the camera!!! Alco Joe has coupled his engines up to the Bedford Turn freight cars and waits for LIRR Train MA-3 to pass on the mainline before getting clearance to return to Terminal Yard as Train BT-28.
LIRR Train MA-3 heads to North Side Yard in Empire Cityy with a long train of PCCM traffic.
The BT-28 rolls into Terminal Yard.

We'll cut it here for today with Kar Knocker getting ready to inspect the BT-28 and VN-6 freight cars.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with LIRR Train MA-3 arriving at the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard.
Be sure to catch all the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard out!

A great start to PCCM #103 and 2024! The action right out of the gate once train VN-4 arrives shows that the NYCTL crew means business and is quite efficient! Nice to see the non-PCCM cars for Ford on the railroad. The LIRR C420 engines was a nice surprise. The amount of box cars on train VN-6 was massive. Kar Knocker, Bike Mike and Wet Willie will be busy for sure!

    Ready for the next installment!!

    West Mill out

That was a neat consist on VN-4 with three locomotives in premerger schemes and the unit with the PC Red "P". The RS-1 looks splendid at Bedford Park and would be a favorite for me to watch work! I'm noting the new DTI coil cars! Very nice! I like the different view of Terminal Yard from the office area as BP-41 left. More cool roster choices with the Alco combo 7608 and 9909 on the point of the Bedford Turn! The VN trains from Selkirk were impressively long and looked like transfers from the big yard!
