Penn Central Car Movements #102 Part 1 / The Gathering Begins

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #102!!!
PCCM 102 will be another three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division as we continue the march to PCCM #200!!

The action starts at "Yard A" with the now familiar Alco FAs running their last revenue miles hiding from becoming trade in fodder and the scrapper's torch.

The 16A Job transfers empty hoppers from Yard A to Terminal Yard.
The empty hoppers are shoved into Terminal Yard track #6 for movement to nearby Hudson Coal for their next PCCM loads.
The 16A power heads back to "Yard A".
The "16A" crew stops at Bruce Electric to pullout GM&O boxcar #21129.
The GM&O and CBQ boxcars are setout for pickup.
Back in "Yard A" the crew starts pulling a cut of cars for delivery to consignees in the Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage complex (TW&CS) and Terminal Yard.
The 16A Job Departs Yard "A".
The 16A crew picks up a cut of non PCCM cars from Terminal Yard.
The GM&O and CBQ boxcars are coupled onto for movement to "Yard A".
The 16A crew starts working the TW&CS industries pulling a cut of PCCM reefers and boxcars.
Inbound cars for the TW&CS complex are spotted at their proper door locations.
The 16A makes its shove move back to "Yard A".
The 16A heads back to Yard "A".
We'll leave the 16A to work Yard "A" as three PCCM reefers are shoved into track #1.
It's time to check in with Robert R and the Bedford Park Job. We catch up with the BPJ at Bedford Tower getting train orders to head to Terminal Yard as Train BP-12.
The BP-12 heads to Terminal Yard.
Robert R brings the BP-12 into Terminal Yard.
Once again the yard crew and Robert R perform a quick turnaround to get hot auto parts cars to the Bedford Park Ford Plant with Train BP-41.
The BP-41 departs Terminal Yard.
Robert R brings the BP-41into Bedford Park Yard and we'll leave him to deliver the hot non PCCM cars.
Back in Terminal Yard engine hostler Wet Willie surprises Alco Joe with a first time PCCM all Alco RS2-FB1-RS2-RS2 lash up to power the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27. Some might call this junk power but to Alco Joe Christmas has come early.
Train BT-27 departs Terminal Yard.
The BT-27 gets to work at the Hostess Plant coupling up to a cut of cars including the empty Hostess covered hopper that will be heading to the large Rock Ridge Cargill complex for its next PCCM load.
The BT-27 shoves back on the long siding and couples up to PC boxcar 142770 at the Berk Enterprises loading dock loaded with printed packaging for Morton Salt in Rock Ridge, NJ
The BT-27 next pulls a cut of cars from University Millwork including PC boxcar 360158 loaded with TV cabinets for Zenith in Bloomberg, NY.
The BT-27 is now at work pulling a cut of cars from the Schaefer Brewery including newly repainted APRR 4160 and BAR boxcar 5226 loaded with beer for Reynolds Beverage in West Mill, NY.
After getting the Bedford freight cars together Alco Joe holds on the Bedford Secondary awaiting clearance to enter the mainline and make his runaround move to get on the head end of what will become Train BT-28 that will head back to Terminal Yard.
Alco Joe makes his runaround move.
The power has coupled on and the Bedford Turn prepares to head back to Terminal Yard.
The BT-28 heads back to Terminal Yard.
We'll cut it here for today with the Bedford Turn returning to Terminal Yard.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with the Water Street Job at work in Empire City.
Be sure to catch all of the PCCM 101 action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

So much happening on the N.Y.C.T.L. in this excellent opening series! The 16A with the FA units is fast becoming a favorite op to railfan! The all Alco consist with the recently renumbered RS-2s was a treat as well!

    Rock Ridge Yard out!

That’s a lot of action on this opening PCCM. The Yard ‘A’ job made some great moves to and from Terminal Yard. More important was the impressive lineup of Alco motive power from Terminal Yard for the Bedford Turn. I don’t think I’ve seen that lash up of RS2-FB1-RS2-RS2 engine power nor did the Penn Central! Glad Alco Joe enjoyed his Christmas present!

    Great work Sir John!
