Penn Central Car Movements #99 Part 5 / Local Trains Continue Their Work.

 Greetings All,

Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #99!!!

Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR continues today with more Penn Central local trains moving the PCCM freight traffic to its consignees and the arrival of PC Train TE-16 from Selkirk with more PCCM freight traffic from the KPD, KP&W and APRR.

The first local train out of Terminal yard today will be the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27. Engine hostler Wet Willie has a pair of RS-1s coupled up for Alco Joe who will be running this train today.

Train BT-27 departs Terminal Yard and arrives in Bedford.

The Bedford Turn shoves into the Bedford Industrial Siding to make a long pull of freight cars.

With the siding clear PC Boxcar #229036 loaded with bulk cardboard from International Paper in Binghamton, NY is spotted at Berk Enterprises.

Three PC covered hoppers loaded with bleached flour from Cargill in Rock Ridge, NJ are spotted at the Hostess / Wonder Bread Plant.

With the switching work done the Bedford Turn RS1s make their runaround move.

The Bedford Turn is ready on the Bedford Secondary to head back to Terminal Yard as Train BT-28 and awaits clearance to enter the mainline.

Train BT-28 heads back to Terminal Yard.

The Bedford Turn returns to Terminal Yard.

A short time later Train MR-1 is ready to depart with empty hoppers for T&R Gravel and Hudson Coal.

The MR-1 departs Terminal Yard.

After arriving in Bedford the MR-1 SD9s shove four empty PC PS2 covered hoppers towards T&R Gravel.

The four PS2s are spotted for their next PCCM loads of locomotive sand for the APRR Richmond Hill Engine Terminal.

The MR-1 starts working Hudson Coal coupled to a quartet of hoppers from T&R Gravel that were temporarily placed here.

The last of the loads get pulled from Hudson Coal.

The MR-1 makes the long pull out of Hudson Coal.

The MR-1 SD9s stop at Bedford Tower to await clearance to use the mainline and shove the empties back to Hudson Coal.

The SD9s shove the empties to Hudson Coal after Extra 7675 West clears the main.

The empties are spotted for loading.

The SD9s have coupled up to the loaded hoppers on the Bedford Secondary and hold for Train TE-16 from Selkirk bringing PCCM freight traffic from the KPD-KP&W and APRR to Terminal Yard.

Train TE-16 rumbles past Train MR-2.

We'll cut it here for today with Train MR-2 returning to Terminal Yard.

We'll pick it up tomorrow with the Yard Job working the MR-2 and TE-16 consists and building Train EC-1 that will deliver the cars from the TE-16 and others waiting in the yard to the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard.

Be sure to catch all the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

Things get off to a great start with the very pleasing RS-1s at the head end of BT-27! Nice work completing al of the work assigned to this train. The meet with the commuter train with power at each end is becoming a popular favorite! The operation of MR-1/MR-2 with its loads/empties moves is also a favorite of mine! Train meets in this installment were awesome! TE-16 was a very impressive lengthy train passing by the respectable MR-2! Great stuff!

    1. Thank you very much Ralph!!! The long pull out of Hudson Coal is one of my favorite trains to video. Heavy PCCM freight traffic has provided the opportunity for some good train meets. The dual engine powered commuter train is based on the LIRR commuter trains I rode on the Montauk Line that even had a FA on one end. Maybe I should look into that!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

The express commuter train looked good on the grade heading to its next destination. Passenger trains do take priority on the rails and that was no exception! The SD9 working Hudson Coal wad 32 cars on that pull. Nice coal drag!

    Nice work Sir John!
