Penn Central Car Movements #99 Part 3 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #99!!!

Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR continues today with some last minute outbound freight car moves the dispatch of our outbound trains.

The action starts in Terminal Yard with Big Mike and Kar Knocker discussing their workload as the yard power pumps the air on the freight cars brought in yesterday by Extra 9921 East.

The Yard Job gets to work building our two outbound trains, SK-5 and SK-7.

The Yard Job pulls the freight cars that came in from Empire City on EBRR Train EB-2 back into the yard for blocking and classification.

The Yard Job ties up for the day on track #6. Freight traffic for the Kings Port Division sits on track #2 at the far right while traffic for the Atlantic Pacific RR occupies track #4

Later this day in Bedford, NY LIRR Train MA-3 is heading to Empire City with freight traffic to interchange with the Empire Belt RR.

Train MA-3 heads to North Side Yard.

The EBRR trainmen watch Train MA-3 arriving in North Side Yard.

LIRR engineer Jimmy Alco checks in with the EBRR guys and welcomes senior EBRR engineer Sir Neal back from his vacation while conductor John waits for the waybills from the LIRR conductor.

The LIRR caboose is coupled on and the train leaves North Side Yard as Train MA-4.

LIRR Train MA-4 heads back to Fresh Pond Yard.

The following day over at Pier 16 in East Bedford, NY the Yard A switcher is on duty and pulling a cut of cars from their yard that include two empty Penn Central boxcars being forwarded to Terminal Yard for movement to their next PCCM loadings.

The Yard A switcher delivers a cut of cars to Terminal Yard.

The Yard A switcher heads back to Yard A for a cut of TOFC cars. The PC TOFC flats on the ramp will be heading to the KP&W's Williams Yard in Kings Port, NY.

The Yard A switcher returns to start work on the TOFC ramp.

The Yard A switcher pulls TP&W RBLs from Consolidated Grocery Distributors and cut of PC TOFC flats from the ramp and delivers them to Terminal Yard.

The Yard A switcher heads back to Yard A with three empty APRR covered hoppers to be moved to the Pier 16 Grain Silos for their next PCCM loads and a non PCCM boxcar.

Big Mike is back on duty and makes the final blocking moves for our outbound trains.

Train SK-5 with freight traffic for the Atlantic Pacific RR is ready to depart for Selkirk behind GP40s 3180 and 3007.

Train SK-5 departs Terminal Yard.

Next stop Selkirk!!!

Three GP30s in three paint schemes will power Train SK-7 to Selkirk with freight traffic for the Kings Port Division and the Kings Port & Western RR.

Train SK-7 departs Terminal Yard.

Next stop Selkirk!!!

This wraps up my outbound portion of PCCM 99. We'll reconvene on this upcoming Friday to begin the inbound portion.

Be sure to catch all the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you Friday!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

This was a great outbound series! There was so much freight being moved for both railroads. The guys at Selkirk, West Mill and Rock Ridge will have their hands full! Those LIRR C420 engines look mighty fine pulling the freight into North Side Yard. They always ran them long hood forward! The APRR awaits this huge inbound train!

    West Mill out.

Action at Terminal Yard provides great railfanning as major trains are assembled and the Yard A switcher runs around all over the place managing the TOFCs and scrap wheel gons that will be coming my way! I've said before that the Yard A/ Pier 16 ops could be a layout of their own! I like the new camera angle looking down the street at the grade crossing as the Yard A switcher works. The LIRR units look great in their MTA blue and yellow! Speaking of color, the TP&W and APRR red and orange cars were visually striking during SK-5's rollby! Looking forward to the arrival of SK-7 at Kings Port and West Mill!

Thank you for the compliments Ralph!!! Yard A does provide a tremendous amount of switching opportunities and it has additional operations that I'm working on. SK-7 was a colorful roll by!!!
