Random Running #1 / Lehigh Valley and Erie Lackawanna

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Random Running #1 of 2022

The short random running posts have been filmed over time as I document various trains running on the layout. Today's focus will be the Lehigh Valley and Erie Lackawanna.

Today's installment opens with Lehigh Valley SW9 #292 with beehive spark arrestors bringing a transfer train from the LV's 27th Street Yard off the 12th Ave running track thru Pier 16 yard to Terminal Yard.

The second train highlighted today is this Lehigh Valley Alco FA-FB-FA lash up bringing a freight train past RA Tower in Empire City.

Lehigh Valley Alco C628 Snowbirds with a train of steel products heading thru Empire City towards Terminal Yard.

We end today's installment with a pair of Erie Lackawanna Alco S1s bringing a transfer freight thru Empire City.

Enjoy this short video of the featured locomotives and trains at work.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!!
See you soon!!!

  1. I like the Random Running concept and the opportunity to see foreign roads on the N.Y.C.T.L.! Great collection of LV and EL power and rolling stock! It was a nice touch to add the links to photos of the prototype locomotives! The LV 27th St. Yard adds operations interest!

  2. Some great trains in this video! I really liked the LV box car train with a sea of white box cars. The Alco C628 engines hauling steel cars was nice to see. Looks like the NYCTL is pulling out of storage some great looking motive power!
