Penn Central Car Movements #91 Part 5 / PC Local Trains

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #91!!!

We continue our inbound portion today after the arrival of two trains from Selkirk with freight traffic from 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

We open up today at Terminal Yard with Big Mike coupled to the caboose of train TY-8 and Kar Knocker getting ready to inspect the train.

After the train is inspected the yard job gets busy building our local trains.  Below is part of Train BT-27, the Bedford Turn, with four ballast hoppers going to T&R Gravel and three 40' Hi Cubes going to the Hostess Plant.

The yard job has coupled to NH boxcar #36116 and PC boxcar #360158 that are newly cleaned and ready to fulfill empty car requests for local loading.

The NH 36116 is coupled into Train EC-1 for delivery to the Empire Belt RR for its next PCCM loading by City Pallet in Empire City.

PC 360158 is coupled into the Bedford Turn for delivery to University Millwork to get its next PCCM load.

Big Mike shoves the Long Island RR interchange block onto the head end of Train EC-1 for delivery to the Empire Belt RR.

The Yard Job has coupled up to GM&O boxcar #21120 that is loaded with 55 gallon drums of Lube Oil from the Gulf River Facility.

The Gulf boxcar is shoved to the Terminal Yard shop for unloading.

Ex NYC SW8 #9608 gets the call to power the Water Street Job that is making its PCCM debut.

The Water Street Job makes it PCCM maiden run

The WSJ has pulled cars from the newly opened appliance dealer and is now pulling TOFC cars from the REA ramp.

Three TP&W boxcars are shoved into the new appliance dealer located in the old Water Street Freight House for their first PCCM loads.

Four TOFC cars from the B&M are shoved into the old REA Ramp.

The old REA site has been turned into a TOFC terminal for increased PCCM traffic options.

The Water Street Job holds on Empire City Station Track #1.

The WSJ heads back to Terminal Yard.

Our next train out of Terminal Yard is the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27, powered by ex NYC SW8 #9622.

The Bedford Turn, Train BT-27,  departs Terminal Yard.

The BT-27 brings four empty APRR Ballast Hoppers onto track #1 to access T&R Gravel in the background.

The four ballast hoppers are spotted for ballast loading to keep the APRR right of way in tip top shape.

After completing the work at T&R Gravel the BT-27 rolls into Bedford proper to work the Hostess Plant and University Millwork.

First stop is the Hostess Plant where four cars get pulled from the siding.

The SW8 spots one ACFX covered hopper of flour from the large Cargill facility at Rock Ridge NJ and three empty 40' Hi Cubes belonging to the APRR(2) and EBRR(1) for their next PCCM loads.

The 9622 holds at Bedford Station for clearance to enter the main and make it's runaround move to continue its work.

The 9622 makes its runaround move.

After the runaround move the SW8 gets busy pulling a pair of boxcars from University Millwork.

Next move is spotting empty(and clean) PC boxcar #360158 at University Millwork for its next PCCM load.

We'll cut it here for today with the Bedford Turn heading back to Terminal Yard.

We'll pick it up tomorrow at Terminal Yard and spend most of the day in Empire City with the EBRR crew.

Be sure to follow the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

Congratulations on the debut run of a new operation on the N.Y.C.T.L., the Water St. Job! I appreciated being aware of its development in advance but really like how it works in practice during a "virtual op"! Both of the facilities featured, the appliance dealer and the REA ramp turned TOFC Terminal should see a lot of activity in the future! Love the Doppler effect on the train horn audio as the Water St, Job passed by in the video! This installment featured a lot of your excellent painting and decaling skills with the new red TP&W cars, the APRR ballast hoppers, and the yellow Hi Cubes! Your reference to the cleaning tack for freight cars brought another layer of realism to the operations. Nicely done all around!

Thank you Ralph!!! The PCCMs are getting better and better and the new industries on the NYCTL are another example of the virtual ops catalyst at work!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Two new debuts on the N.Y.C.T.L.! The Water Street Job and the TP&W cars are launched! The Water Street Job gives a lot of new action to the railroad. The TP&W cars add more revenue to your railroad! The biggest surprise is the Work Train that I saw rolling thru Bedford. I thought that train was great! The Terminal Yard crew did a great job sending out the local freight car jobs throughout Empire City!

Thank you very much 1:1 Sir Neal!!! The Spring time work train needed to restore some parts of the PC right of way after the winter was in one of the Emery Gulash videos and I thought it would work well here. Glad you liked it!
