Penn Central Car Movements #91 / Part 1 / The Outbound Cycle Begins

 Greetings All,

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #91!!!

We are back to our full three layout virtual ops strength as we welcome 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad back to the P.C.C.M.s. Today the NYCTL will begin its outbound car movements to facilitate the interchange freight cars with the APRR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

We open up in the wee hours at Bedford Park Yard with engineer Robert R getting ready to board ex NYC S12 #8110 and begin his switching duties.

The first move is to pull this non PCCM PC boxcar from American Hardware Supply.

The second stop is to pull two empty Evans Coil Coaches from the  Ford Plant for return to Kings Port Steel in Kings Port NY.

After a runaround move Robert R gets two more gondolas of steel coils into position for delivery to the Ford Plant.

The steel coil gondolas are spotted and ready for unloading and the automobile manufacturing continues without delays.

Robert R continues working the Ford Plant and pulls out two loaded non PCCM auto racks.

The S-12 eases up to Bedford Tower which is the end of the Bedford Park yard limits. Once clearance is given the train will head to Terminal Yard as Train BP-12.

Train BP-12 heads to Terminal Yard and heads back to Bedford Park Yard at Train BP-41.

Back at Terminal Yard it's who's who of NYCTL Trainmen. Alco Joe has been called for the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27, engine hostler Wet Willie has provided a pair of Alco RS units. Kar Knocker has the train ready to go and the yardmaster gives his blessing

The BT-27 heads for Bedford

The BT-27 shoves back into the Hostess Siding to pull empty PC boxcar #360158 for its next PCCM load as conductor Murray gives the hand signals.

PC boxcar #229036 will be pulled from Berk Enterprises loaded with printed packaging materials for Blue Ribbon Flour.

Alco Joe pulls the cars from the siding.

The BT-27 shoves cars into the Hostess siding as Conductor Murray waves to an oncoming train.

The BT-27 works it's way back to Terminal Yard.

The BT-27 arrives in Terminal Yard. A pair of ex PRR SD9s sent from Avon Yard to protect the yard job assignment for PCCM 91 idle on track 2.

Over in Empire City Long Island RR Train MA-3 heads towards Terminal Yard.

LIRR engineer Jimmy Alco eases the MA-3 thru North Side Yard under the watchful eyes of Sir Neal, PC Ralph and the EBRR car inspector.

Jimmy Alco drops off the waybills at the yard office.

Later that day LIRR trainmen collect their caboose for the return to Fresh Pond Yard.

Jimmy Alco brings the MA-4 out of the North Side Yard and heads for the LIRR's Fresh Pond Yard.

We'll cut it here for today to allow the car inspector to inspect the train and for the waybills to be reconciled.

We'll pick it up tomorrow at North Side Yard and spend the day with the Empire Belt RR.

Be sure to follow the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you tomorrow!!!

Excellent start to #91! The Ford plant is always busy, having to run all hours. Hostess seems to be busy now. Must be everyone wanting those awesome Hostess Twinkees! Watching those LIRR RS units always reminds me of growing up on Long Island and seeing the LIRR switching industries in Garden City.

Reliable NYC S12 #8110 on the head end of BP-12/ BP-41 is becoming a favorite op for me to follow from Ford to Terminal Yard and back! The orange APRR unit on VN-4 was a nice surprise and accent in the multiple unit consist. Neat move from Avon with the SD9s at Terminal Yard. The not often seen on the N.Y.C.T.L. (as far as I can recall) RS units on BT-27 were a nice choice and much appreciated by Alco fans! I liked the three train meet! Great start to the series!

Thank you Ralph!!! Good eye on the RS units on BT-27! They have only been recently paired together and happened to be in the engine terminal available for assignment for BT-27.
