P.C.C.M. 68 / NYCTL Part 1 / The Outbound Cycle Begins

Greetings All,

Welcome to another year of Virtual Ops aka the Penn Central Car Movements. Today starts our 68th P.C.C.M. series between PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and my NYCTL. Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR will join in the virtual op next weekend.

The action starts early in the morning with the Bedford Park Yard crew pulling a trio of empty 60' boxcars ready to be returned to ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY on the K.P.D.
The crew is now pulling a pair of empty coil steel coaches from the Ford Steel track for return and reloading at Kings Port Steel in Kings Port NY.
The yard crew has pulled a pair of empties from the tank car track and shoves the entire string onto the Bedford Park Yard lead.
The empties await pick up on the lead next to Bedford Tower.
A short time later a trio of Alco Centuries lead Penn Central Train BP-12 thru Bedford NY towards Bedford Park.
The Alco Centuries have run around their train and shoved their consist to a rest adjacent Bedford Tower under the watchful eye of tower operator 1/87th scale John B.
The engines have coupled up to the outbound cars on the lead and have shoved back to pull these four empty auto parts boxcars for return to IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ and ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY.
BP-12 is put back together and undergoing an air brake test.

BP-12 heading back to Terminal Yard

BP-12 arrives in Terminal Yard.
The Centuries bring the train down the arrival / departure track.
The engines been have cut off and brought to the fuel rack where we catch who else but 1/87th scale Alco Joe alighting from the 2417 and telling engine hostler Wet Willie to "fill em up'.
Over in the yard 1/87th scale Kar Knocker and his men have blue flagged the train for inspection and 1/87th scale Big Mike & Robert R have been called for PC Train BT-27 powered by a trio of GP7s.
BT-27's first stop is T&R Gravel to pick up four PC PS-2 covered hoppers loaded with locomotive sand for the A.P.R.R. Engine Terminal in Rock Ridge NJ.
APRR ballast hopper #9941 making it's P.C.C.M. debut is loaded with ballast for the APRR MOW Department.
BT-27 rolls thru Bedford NY to work the Hostess Plant.
1/87th scale Robert R is on the ground as Big Mike shoves into the siding to couple up to empty B&M RBL #105.
Empty covered hopper ACFX #56670 is pulled from the siding for return to Cargill in Rock Ridge NJ.
With the work done at Hostess the guys put BT-27 back together.
Next stop is Heileman Brewery to pick up these two boxcars loaded with beer for Reynolds Beverage in Kings Port NY.
1/87th scale Big Mike & Robert R pull NYC Hi Cube #173861 loaded with cases of tall neck bottled beer and IC boxcar #30130 loaded with cases and kegs of beer for Reynolds Beverage.
BT-27 runs past Bedford Tower after running thru the Empire City reverse curve and gets a roll by inspection from tower man John B.

BT-27 heads back to Terminal Yard

BT-27 arrives at Terminal Yard as we catch the yard crew coupling on to the freight cars brought in earlier by BP-12.
1/87th scale Kar Knocker once again gets to work inspecting an inbound train under blue flag protection.
We'll close it out here today at the engine terminal with 1/87th scale Robert R & Big Mike tieing down their engines.
We'll pick it up tomorrow at the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard with the EBRR working the Empire City industries.

Be sure to follow the action this weekend on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division. Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR will be joining in next weekend.

See ya tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

Thanks for kicking off the first virtual ops of 2020! Bedford Park Yard served its operational function very nicely setting up the cut for BP-12. A trio of Centuries was a railfan favorite as was the GP7 threesome on BT-27. Nice to see the debut of U23C #6718 on yard duty! The APRR ballast car is cool and I like the blue flag inspections! Nice work!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Great launch for our first P.C.C.M. of 2020! Reports are in that the APRR Richmond Hill Engine Terminal is in need of sand as the winter weather is making the demand high! Also another Alco's on parade run! Power to the max! Ideal Auto Parts & Electronics reached to the yard so they clear out the siding prior to the cars arrival. They want to be ready. BT-27 does look good on the roll by..

Rock Ridge will be on standby for the inbound!
