Penn Central Car Movements #109 / Part 3 Dispatch of Outbound Train

 Greetings All,

Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #109
Our two layout virtual op with my layout interchanging freight traffic with Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with the Empire Belt RR and Penn Central working together to make the final outbound movements.

The action starts in Terminal Yard with EBRR and PC trainmen talking over the new agreements in place since January 1st that has the EBRR and PC alternating the transfer runs between Terminal Yard (PC) and North Side Yard (EBRR).
EBRR Train EB-3 heads back to North Side Yard.
The EB-3 rumbles into North Side Yard.
We now turn our attention to the action at Terminal Yard with Big Mike and Kar Knocker getting ready to inspect the inbound consist from EBRR Train EB-2.
With the EB-2 freight consist now inspected and released empty NYC and PRR coal hoppers with four others are shoved into track #7 for their next movement to Hudson Coal.
After the non PCCM traffic from the EB-2 has been placed on track #2  PC 360063 and NYC 80755 are being shoved up track #8.
PC 360063 is placed on the headend of train SK-5 which is being built on departure track #8A.
Big Mike brings NYC 80775 thru the wye in the engine terminal as empty 55 gallon lube oil drums get loaded into a GM&O boxcar.
Big Mike couples the 80775 onto TP&W 627 which will bring up the hind end of Train SK-5. The Terminal Yard crew continue to do their best when it comes to blocking outbound PCCM trains.
Big Mike shoves EBRR Pool Caboose 1603 into the caboose track.
The RS32s are tied down in the engine terminal as Big Mike goes to beans.
Over in the shop area GM&O boxcar 21129 has finished being loaded with the empty 55 gallon lube oil drums and gets picked up by the shop switcher.
The shop switcher couples the GM&O 21129 onto the head end of Train SK-5 for movement to the Gulf Facility at West Mill, NY satisfying the blocking requirements for this PCCM train. (I hope!)
A gratuitous photo of non PCCM PC tank car 70123 being moved to the shop to deliver clean lube oil and collect the dirty lube oil. The tank car was offered thru the Penn Central RR Historical Society.
Over at the engine terminal ready track hostler Wet Willie adds an Alco C424 to the trio of C425s that will power Train SK-5.
The road crew after picking up their train orders at the yard office get ready to board the SK-5 power.
The power couples onto the SK-5 freight consist. After their terminal air test they'll depart for Selkirk with 22 cars of PCCM freight traffic for the Kings Port Division.
The four Alcos bring the SK-5 out of the departure track.
The SK-5 departs Terminal Yard.
Train SK-5 heads for Selkirk.
Next Stop Selkirk!!!
This wraps up the outbound portion on the NYCTL. Be sure to catch all the action on Ralph's Kings Port Division!!!

See you next Friday for the Inbound portion of PCCM 109
Thanks for reading and watching!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard out!

That’s a lot of motive power handling all of that freight heading west to Selkirk. I’m sure Wet Willie and Alco Joe were very happy to see those C424/425 engines on the move!

Nice touch adding the diesel engine to help the RDC car in these cold weather conditions.
Another nice touch having that PC E8A handling another commuter run thru Bedford and Empire City

Looking forward to the inbound portion on the NYCTL!

The recent cold snap has motivated some enjoyable motive power assignments with the RS2/RDC combo and the E8 on the commuter! Larger power units look great on EB-3 and SK-5 and the RS23s made rail fans happy at Terminal Yard! Great video coverage of trains from Terminal Yard coming out of the tunnel and nicely synchronized sound effects! The PC tanker #70123 is very cool, a great offering from the PCRRHS! Looking forward to next week when SK-5 is seen arriving at Selkirk with all of those cars for the Kings Port Division!
