Greetings All,
Welcome Back to Penn Central Car Movements #105!!!
The PCCM #105 three layout one weekend virtual op with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR interchanging freight traffic with my NYCTL continues today.
The action begins at Terminal Yard with Alco Joe called for Train EC-1 that will be powered by a pair of Alco RS32s courtesy of engine hostler, Wet Willie.
Train EC-1 departs Terminal Yard.
Alco Joe brings the EC-1 into North Side Yard under the watchful eyes of the Empire Belt trainmen.
Conductor Murray delivers the waybills to conductor John while Sir Neal and PC Ralph exchange engineer stories with Alco Joe.Train EC-2 heads back to Terminal Yard caboose lite.
A short time later the LIRR daily transfer run to North Side Yard, Train MA-3, is coming thru Bedford.
LIRR Train MA-3 heads to North Side Yard.
LIRR engineer Jimmy Alco has coupled up to the cement hoppers from Tri Mount Cement and exchanges pleasantries with the EBRR trainmen.
LIRR Train MA-4 heads for home.
Later that day Penn Central Train MR-1, The Mine Run, is ready to depart Terminal Yard.
The Mine Run is on the move.
First stop is T&R Gravel to deliver these four empty PC PS2 covered hoppers from the APRR's Rock Ridge Yard for their next PCCM loads.
Being pulled out of T&R Gravel are four APRR ballast hoppers to be forwarded to the APRR's Rock Ridge Yard.
The ballast hoppers are temporarily placed at Hudson Coal.
The empty PS2s are placed at T&R Gravel for their next PCCM loads of locomotive sand.
The MR-1 power couples up to the coal hoppers.
Loaded ballast and coal hoppers get pulled from T&R Gravel.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with senior engineer Sir Neal getting ready to take Empire Belt Train EB-2 from North Side Yard to Terminal Yard.

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
It’s always interesting to see the PC motive power you use for your runs, especially the Mine Run; a pair of Geeps with an F7B unit. As always, the LIRR engines are my favorites.
The APRR crew will be waiting for the ballast hoppers as maintenance work on the railroad is never finished!
Great job Sir John!

The EC-1 is an integral train for interchange between the PC and EBRR. I've always liked the quick turnaround at North Side Yard with the EC power returning caboose lite. More cool interchange with the LIRR and its MA-3/4. Neat train meets with al of those trains! The MR-1 was a big train full of empty hoppers and needed that wonderful first generation lashup of G(7s and the F7B unit. Wet Willie most have known I'd be watching! I've probably mentioned how much i admire the APRR ballast hoppers but its worth saying again how nicely designed they are. Great stuff all around!

DeleteThanks you very much Ralph!!! The APRR ballast hoppers started out with two spare coal hoppers from Neal and a here do whatever you want with these. And I did!! Neal liked them so much he sent me six more coal hoppers to paint and letter. Thanks for the compliments on them!!
