Greetings All,
Welcome Back to New York - New Jersey Ops #5!!!
Our fifth NY-NJ Virtual Op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad continues today with the B&O and PC taking center stage.
The B&O Crew works Terminal Warehouse and Cold Storage.
After delivering the NY-NJ Hi Cube freight cars of appliances to Montgomery Ward and six empty 57' reefers to Birdseye the B&O Transfer returns to 16th Street Yard.
The 16th Street Yard Transfer ties down in...That's right, 16th Street Yard. With the merging of the B&O and C&O and the creation of the the Chessie System perhaps we should start calling this the Chessie System Transfer? Probably not, habits did hard in the RR industry.
Next we check in with PC engineer Robert R. reporting to the Bedford Park Yard office or shack as it is known among the men.
The caboose is coupled on,
The PC RS2s are ready to depart from Bedford Park and head to Terminal Yard with the empies as Train BP-12.
Train BP-12 heads to Terminal Yard.
The BP-12 rolls thru Terminal Yard.Big Mike is out quickly to pull the BP-12 freight cars from the arrival / departure track.
We'll pick it tomorrow back in Terminal Yard with Alco Joe reporting for "The Bedford Turn".
The BP-12 consist is shoved into track #4.
NY-NJ freight cars going to Bedford Park Ford Plant are pulled from track #5.The auto parts cas and auto racks are set out on the arrival departure track.
Engineer Robert R has coupled onto the auto parts cars and chats with Kar Knocker as the RS2s build up the air pressure.PC Train BP-41 is shoved out of Terminal Yard.
The BP-41 has arrived in the cozy confines of Bedford Park Yard and gets ready to deliver the empty auto racks.
Two Empire Belt boxcars of auto parts from IDEAL Auto parts in Rock Ridge NJ are placed at the Ford Plant.Three APRR boxcars of auto parts from IDEAL in Rock Ridge, NJ are placed at the Ford siding.
With that done we'll cut it here for today as Robert R ties down in Bedford Park Yard. We'll pick it tomorrow back in Terminal Yard with Alco Joe reporting for "The Bedford Turn".
This concludes Part 5 on the NYCTL. Be sure to catch all the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad.
