New York - New Jersey Ops #4 / Outbound / Part 1

 Greetings All,

Welcome to New York - New Jersey Ops #4!!!

We're back for our fourth NY-NJ Virtual Op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad as well as other off layout connections. NY-NJ #4 will feature some of the regular train movements along with some new first time trains.

We'll begin our outbound train moves today at the Empire Belt RR's North Side Yard which is quite crowded with freight cars for various Empire City industries.

The crew puts together today's Belt Job and sets out to service the local industries.

The first industry to be served is the Quaker Plant in the Haydon Heights section of Empire City.

A long string of empty NY-NJ covered hoppers are pulled from the Quaker siding.

Next stop is Neal's Lumber & Hardware where we catch empty Green Bay & Western Thrall All Door Boxcar #54 being lifted for movement back to Lewiston Idaho and its next NY-NJ load.

Over in midtown 1:87 Emery is on his perch as three empty 57' reefers get pulled from Empire Produce for movement to their next NY-NJ loads.

The Belt Job proceeds to the Hohman Ave Industrial Park.

PC boxcars 160502 and 142770 loaded with furniture get pulled from Superior Furniture for movement to 3 Amigos Warehouse in

Rock Ridge, NJ.

Penn Central boxcars 360508 and 360063 loaded with steel wool products for American Hardware Supply in Rock Ridge, NJ are pulled from Walsh Steel Wool Products.

The Belt Job has completed its switch work and heads back to North Side Yard.

Sir Neal ties the Belt Job down on the Belt Line due to train length and the impending arrival of Long Island RR Train MA-3.

A short time later LIRR Train MA-3 from Fresh Pond Junction rolls into Bedford as it heads to North Side Yard.

Train MA-3 arrives in North Side Yard.

The MA-3 runs thru the yard.

And tacks its caboose onto the hind end of the freight cars going to 
Fresh Pond Junction.

LIRR engineer Long Island Mike checks in the EBRR trainmen.

LIRR Train MA-4 departs North Side Yad and heads to Fresh Pond Junction.

Next stop Fresh Pond Junction!

An hour or so later the EBRR crew gets ready to build and depart North Side Yard with Train EB-2, the daily transfer to the PC Terminal Yard.

Let's watch the EBRR guys put their train together and follow it to Terminal Yard.

Train EB-2 arrives in Terminal Yard with 35 freight cars (27 NYNJ and 7 other).

The EBRR and PC guys talk things over.

The EBRR guys head back to North Side Yard caboose lite as Train EB-3.

The PC Terminal Yard crew get together to start breaking down the EB-2 freight consist. Today's yard power is a pair of Alco RS32s.

With Terminal Yard now in good order the B&O 16th Street Yard Transfer prepares to depart their yard behind a pair of GP35s.

The 16th Street Transfer is on the move to Terminal Yard

The B&O crew takes care of business and returns to 16th Street Yard.

We'll cut it here for today with the B&O back in 16th Street Yard.

We'll pick it up tomorrow in Bedford Park Yard.
