Penn Central Car Movements #93 Part 3 / Dispatch of Outbound Trains

 Greetings All,

Happy Father's Day!!

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #93!!!

Our three layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight traffic with 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with dispatch of our outbound trains.

We open up at Terminal Yard with Kar Knocker ready to inspect Train EB-2 from the Empire Belt RR and Big Mike pulling off the caboose.

Next we catch the newly established Water Street Job departing the yard for Empire City.

The Water Street Job arrives in Empire City.

The Water Street Job pulls TOFC flatcars from the REA Ramp that will be going to the KP&W Williams Yard Ramp in Kings Port NY.

Five TP&W boxcars loaded with appliances for 3 Amigos Warehouse in Rock Ridge NJ get pulled from newly opened PC Richard Appliances warehouse.

The Water Street Job finishes its switching work and heads back to Terminal Yard.

Big Mike couples up to the WSJ caboose as Kar Knocker prepares to inspect the train.

Over in the engine terminal 44 tonner 9999 pulls GM&O boxcar #21129 from the shop loaded with empty 55 gal drums for Gulf Oil.

The 9999 brings the GM&O boxcar to the yard tracks as the EB-2 power waits for clearance to enter the engine terminal for fueling.

After dropping the GM&O boxcar in the yard the 9999 couples up to PC depressed center flatcar #766053 as PC Ralph looks on.

The PC flat is shoved into the shop to be loaded with an EMD prime mover for the joint KP&W-PC Engine Shop at Williams Yard. This car will be outbound in a future PCCM.

Several hours later Big Mike finishes building Train SK-5 going to Selkirk with freight cars for the Atlantic Pacific RR's Rock Ridge Yard. On the head end BAR 7574 is going to C&P Restaurant Supply, two gondolas of pipe for Tropicana and five TP&W boxcars for 3 Amigos Warehouse.

On the hind end three Hi Cube boxcars are going to ShopRite, an empty covered hopper to Cargill, three empty boxcars for IDEAL auto parts and PC caboose 26403 brings up the markers.

Over in the engine terminal Senior Engineer Sir Neal asks engine hostler Wet Willie to put the APRR 358 in the lead as the APRR official photographer Norman will be photographing this train. PC Ralph looking on tells Wet Willie don't forget about me and the KPD!

A short time later PC Ralph departs Terminal Yard with his EMD fuel tanks now full. Wet Willie has coupled on the SK-5 power with the APRR 358 in the lead as Sir Neal watches to make sure.

Train SK-5 departs Terminal Yard for Selkirk.

Train SK-5 passes Bedford Tower. Next stop Selkirk!!!

Back in the engine terminal Wet Willie is sweating over whether or not PC Ralph will approve of this power lash up for Train SK-7 that will take cars for the Kings Port Division to Selkirk.

The A-B-B-A set is coupled on as Kar Knocker connects the hoses.

An aerial view of Train SK-7 shows TOFC cars for the KP&W on the head end followed by a pair of two bay covered hoppers going to Corning Glass, empty Lehigh Valley boxcars being forwarded to the LV and a PC boxcar going to Woodstock Hills All Natural Soda.

On the hind end are six boxcars for various West Mill and Bloomberg industries and four empty auto parts boxcars going to ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY with an NYC bay window caboose bringing up the markers.

Train SK-7 departs Terminal Yard for Selkirk.

Train SK-7 passes Bedford Tower. Next stop Selkirk!!!

This concludes the NYCTL's PCCM 93 Outbound segment. We'll return next week for the start of the Inbound portion.

Be sure to catch all the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division!

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you next week!!!

The addition of the Water Street Job is a neat op and I like its two switcher power! The new TP&W boxcars look terrific! The Water St. Job meet with the transfer to Cedar Hill was a pleasant surprise with its New Haven power at the head end. I'm looking forward to seeing more encounters like that in future PCCMs! The famous 44 tonner with the highest locomotive number in the Penn Central system looks good taking care of business at Terminal Yard. The orange APRR #358 nicely contrasts with the PC dipped black consist on SK-5! The F7 A-B-B-A consist assigned to SK-7 is greatly appreciated by 1/87th scale PC Ralph along with his 1:1 scale counterpart! Look for video of the four unit lashup rolling into Selkirk in next week's installment!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Terminal Yard hits it out of the park with 2 full sets of trains heading to Selkirk! The introduction of another freight job on the NYCTL shows the expansion as well as the additional revenue the railroad will enjoy. Those 5 TP&W are sharp box cars and I know will be involved in future PCCM virtual op sessions. By the looks of train SK-7, Wet Willie got the approval from PC Ralph he was sweating about. Think he needs to go to Pizzaland and have a slice and a brew. Great wrap up to your outbound!
