Penn Central Car Movements #86 / NYCTL Part 4 / The Inbound Cycle Begins

 Greeting All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #86!!!

Our two layout virtual op with my NYCTL interchanging freight cars with Ralph's Kings Port Division continues today with the start of our Inbound installments.

The caprice of the Rail Traffic Management Form is on full display again in this virtual op with my NYCTL receiving nine cars and Ralph's KPD receiving over thirty.

We open with Train WKT-9 (West Mill-Kings Port-Terminal Yard) coming across the Empire City High Line as it heads to Bedford and Terminal Yard.

WKT-9 gets train orders at Bedford Tower.

Train WKT-9 heads to Terminal Yard.

U33C #6554 has cut off from WKT-9 and heads to the engine terminal.

The 6554 is spotted at the sand rack for servicing.

The yard job SW8s couple up to the WKT-9 caboose.

Two loaded steel coil coaches from Kings Port Steel going to the Bedford Park Ford Plant are coupled to a trio of empty auto racks also going to the Ford Plant.

Coil coaches of steel coils from Kings Port Steel for Gervais Pipe & Fitting in Empire City are coupled to a caboose as the yard job makes up train EC-1, a daily transfer freight from Terminal Yard to the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard in nearby Empire City.

An HRC 40' boxcar is on the head end of a combined Train BT-27 / BP-41 that will serve Bedford and Bedford Park. To the right is Train EC-1 with a NYC covered hopper for Ronzoni via the LIRR on the head end.

Train BP-12 comes out of Bedford Park with loaded auto racks from the Bedford Park Ford Plant

Train BP-12 heads thru Bedford to Terminal Yard

The Baldwin S12 is coupled on to the combined BT-27 / BP-41.

The BT-27 / BP 41 leaves Terminal Yard.

The HRC 40' boxcar is spotted at the Schaefer Brewery in Bedford NY for its next PCCM load.

The S12 couples back onto the train and heads to Bedford Park.

The 9314 brings the train into Bedford Park.

We'll close it here for today with two loaded steel coil coaches from Kings Port Steel getting shoved into the Ford Plant's steel track for unloading.

We'll pick it up on Sunday starting with Train EC-1 departing Terminal Yard for Empire City and wrap up our inbound portions.

Be sure to catch the action on Ralph's Kings Port Division!!!!

On Saturday September 11, 2021 I'll be posting a special twentieth anniversary blog entry which will be followed by my final inbound post on Sunday.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

The first train with the new symbol WKT arrives in style at Terminal Yard after the railfan treat of the coal train meet along the way! Auto industry operations take center stage later with the nice exchange of empty and loaded auto racks. Those cars are impressive, especially when full of new automobiles! The smooth running NYC Baldwin S12 takes on most of the responsibility for car forwarding today and does it well!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Great to see the train meet at Bedford Yard. Coal train very impressive. The locals look as they’ll have it easy to switch out the industries. They did have a lot of outbound traffic heading to the KP&W. Nice work!
