P.C.C.M.65 / NYCTL Part 2

Welcome back to the P.C.C.M. 65 Series!!!

Today we continue our virtual op with 
1:1 PC Ralph's Kings Port Division

We pick up the action at the Empire Belt's North Side Yard with the EBRR trainmen discussing the power to tonnage ratio for the heavy outbound transfer train to Terminal Yard known as train EB-2. 1/87th scale PC Ralph wants to add another engine to make sure he has enough power to get up the grade to Terminal Yard. Conductor John however says don't break up the other power set, take them all!
As the interim yard master and senior engineer in charge 1/87th scale PC Ralph quickly approved using the FA-FB-FA motive power set and he's bringing it around to couple up to the front of train EB-2.
The power for EB-2 is ready. The guys have elected to have the Alcos set in the trailing position for the trip to Terminal Yard. This means that the Alcos will be the lead engines on the return trip giving the Empire City railfans a chance to get some good photos once word gets out the Alcos are on the move.
Train EB-2 heads towards Terminal Yard.


EBRR Train EB-2, six engines strong, rolls into Terminal Yard.
The empty PC covered hoppers will be stored at Terminal Yard
Other PCCM cars in play include the PC depressed flat and GM&O boxcar brought into North Side Y ard by the LIRR in PCCM 64.
1/87th scale PC Ralph has cut from EB-2 and is reclaiming the caboose for the trip back to North Side Yard. 
The Terminal Yard trainmaster has come out to extend his thanks to PC Ralph for the EBRR's cooperation with the derailment issues. He's probably just admiring the good looking EBRR lash up as it leaves for North Side Yard! 
1/87th scale PC Ralph and the guys are now back at North Side Yard and ready for a break until the PCCM 65 inbound portions.
Back at Terminal Yard 1/87th scale Big Mike and Robert R have been called for PC Train BT-27, The Bedford Turn, that will depart Terminal Yard and serve the City of Bedford industries before returning. 1/87th scale Big Mike growls to Robert R "on the Valley we called this an extra short turnaround" 
1/87th scale Big Mike brings his still turbocharged GP20 to the Hostess Plant where the empty WP 40' Bulk Sugar boxcar needs to be pulled and returned for loading to Great Western Sugar in Denver on Brian's R.C.R. layout.
1/87th scale conductor Robert R has ridden his transfer caboose into the Hostess siding and coupled up to the WP boxcar. The WP car is uncoupled from the Hostess covered hopper and he gives Big Mike the signal to pull out the boxcar.
A 2 bay covered hopper of sugar and empty boxcar are spotted at Hostess.
The D&H boxcar has been coupled to the rear of the transfer caboose and 1/87th scale Big Mike is making a runaround move.
BT-27 heads east to work the University Millwork siding.
The GP-20 is uncoupled from the train and heads into the University Millwork siding to pick up PC boxcar #360158 loaded with TV cabinets for Zenith in Bloomberg NY.
BT-27 shoves back to drop the D&H boxcar loaded with lumber from Valley Lumber in West Egg on 1:1 John B's LF&NW layout.
BT-27 leaves Bedford.
And returns to Terminal Yard.
We'll close it here for today with 1/87th scale Big Mike having cut off from BT-27, picked up his conductor and caboose and spotting the caboose back on the caboose track.
Tomorrow we'll close out the NYCTL outbound portion with the Terminal Yard switchers getting this mishegas in order and  dispatching the outbound train to Selkirk.

    Update on derailment of the PC line from Weehawken to Ridge

    Latest word from the line crew states there's a lot of rail torn up including a few switches and crossovers. it could be more than a week to get the line back to at least one of the two tracks up and running. They've sent in the N.Y.P.D. to assist in the investigation as they think foul play may have been the culprit. 1/87th Norman, the official A.P.R.R. photographer has been dispatched to get pics of the wreck which may help in the investigation. His keen eye for details is invaluable! More to follow...

      The 1/87th scale trainmen of the NYCTL are hoping 1/87th scale Stuart and the NYPD can determine the cause of the derailment. Freight cars and revenues are suffering from this hot mainline track being out.

    Wow! Quite the treat for railfans to watch EB-2 with its six engine consist and that beautiful Alco trio! Classy move! I didn't realize you had so much MOW equipment for the wreck train! Great looking stuff! The meet between EB-2 and the wrecker was a very nice surprise while watching your video!

      Thank you for the compliments Ralph!!!

      I didn't realize how much wreck equipment we had either. It's my son's "stuff" and i've slowly but surely added to it and installed knuckle couplers. I guess we were destined to become PC modelers with the amount of wreck train equipment in that box.
