Welcome Back to the P.C.C.M. 62 Series!
The action starts with 1/87th scale Big Mike and Robert R working the 292 job at the newly relocated and mocked up Pier 16 Grain Silos.
Over at Terminal Yard the Yard Job is pulling these three empty AP covered hoppers that came in on yesterday's Train BT-27. The YJ will shove them up on track 8 for the 292 to pick up.The 292 has the three empty AP covered hoppers and two empty EBRR covered hoppers in tow as it heads thru the switch towards the Grain Silos under the watchful eyes of 1/87th scale Robert R.
The 292 shoves the five empties into track 2 to await their first virtual ops loading at the Pier 16 Grain Silos.
Later that morning Train EC-1 departs Terminal Yard for North Side Yard with some big six axle power including a leased EMD SD45. This consist was inspired by this PC prototype photo.
EC-1 arrives at North Side Yard and 1/87th scale Big Mike steps out of the cab of SD45 #6190 to greet the surprised EBRR trainmen. Hey's where's Alco Joe? No Alcos, no Joe replies Big Mike with a wink. Besides, I'm senior man over there and I'm breaking in the new guy so I took the run.
EC-1 couples up to it's caboose to prepare for departure as Big Mike shares words of wisdom with conductor trainee Robert R on why they are leaving without any freight cars. Listen kid we bring them cars, they bring us cars. That's how it works and it keeps everyone working. We'll be going back caboose lite with this sorry excuse for a caboose so get ready.
1/87th scale Robert R enjoys the views and the breeze from the back of the ex NYC transfer caboose wondering what all the fuss is about. These cabooses are cool! So is the 10,200 HP pulling it!!
With EC-1 out of the way 1/87th scale Senior Engineer Sir Neal gets to work with the Morning Industrial Job.
The MIJ is at Gervais Pipe and Fitting picking up EBRR gondola #509823 loaded with pipe for Shapeless Steel in Rock Ridge NJ.
The MIJ has shoved back to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse to pick up empties PC 360063 and EBRR 358160.
1/87th scale Sir Neal has brought the MIJ into midtown and conductor John is directing the pick up of these GN and NYC Early Bird boxcars.
1/87th scale Conductor John has read the switch list! Empty EBRR boxcar #358160 just pulled from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse is spotted at Neal's Lumber & Hardware for it's next PCCM load.
Still in midtown the MIJ has pulled this Hoschton Railway RBL from Empire Produce with a load of fresh produce for Van Winkle Canning in Bloomberg NY.
This empty NYC Early Bird boxcar just pulled from Neal's Lumber & Hardware is spotted at Prestage Gear for it's next PCCM load. The MIJ crew is firing on all cylinders this morning.
1/87th scale Sir Neal has brought the Morning Industrial Job to the south side of the city and is now shoving back to work the west side industries.
PC 77047 loaded with burlap bags for Hedberg Aggregates in Marion NY is picked up from Moore & Company.
Next stop is Neubaum's Coffee & Tea Importers to pick up IC boxcar #30130 loaded with imported tea for Cavendish Fine Foods in Mayfield NY.
1/87th scale Sir Neal has shoved the MIJ back to Drywell Inks to pick up Rock Island boxcar #35062 loaded with 55 gallon barrels of ink for the Catskill Mountain Press in Bloomberg NY.
Using the Rock Island car as a handle the MIJ pulls this CB&Q boxcar loaded with furniture for American Furniture in Denver CO from Superior Furniture.
The Morning Industrial Job has finished its work and heads back to North Side Yard.
1/87th scale Sir Neal brings the MIJ into North Side Yard and gets a roll by inspection from PC Ralph and his trusty brakeman.
We'll cut it here for today with 1/87th scale PC Ralph and EBRR Train EC-2 getting ready to depart from North Side Yard for Terminal Yard with a leased EMD engine in the consist.
The NYCTL's outbound portion of PCCM 62 will conclude tomorrow with the dispatch of trains LS-1 and NV-3.

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
I must say that massive SD45 consist with the EMD Demo makes a sharp trio. Big Mike flexing his muscles as well? I remember when he was a rookie on the N.Y.C.T.L. Go figure!
Rock Ridge Yard will be at the ready for all inbound freight from the N.Y.C.T.L.
10-4 Rock Ridge...
DeleteThanks for the compliments 1:1 Sir Neal!! Compared to 1:87th scale Sir Neal everyone is a rookie on the NYCTL!

West Mill Out
I am enjoying watching the LV switcher at work lately! Seems like Pier 16 is a great addition to the N.Y.C.T.L. and provides interesting operations. EMD Demonstrator on a caboose hop with PC units! Hmmm...maybe "them transfer cabooses" aren't so bad when they are new! Nice work by the MIJ moving cars for the KPD. Seems like we haven't seen RI 35062 in a while! Very enjoyable post all around!

DeleteThanks Ralph! The LV switcher has found a niche. You're right about the Ralph Island car! It's been taking a slow tour of the NYCTL.
