P.C.C.M. 63 / NYCTL Part 4 / Train BP-41 Gets Called

Greetings All,

Welcome back to the 63rd Penn Central Car Movement series!!
This is the NYCTL's part 4 of 6

Today the NYCTL will start delivering the freight cars from PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad that came into Terminal Yard yesterday with Train LI-2.

We pick up the action at the Terminal Yard Engine Facility with 1/87th scale Big Mike and Robert R called for Train BP-41 and Big Mike grumbling about the assigned engines. BP-41 serves the Bedford Park Ford Plant and NYCTL management goes out of their way to assign non EMD engines to this train.
PC U Boats, 2875 and 2822 have coupled onto the BP-41. 1:1 Big Mike fans know how he feels about these GE products.
BP-41 leaves Terminal Yard with a shiny PC transfer caboose.
1/87th scale Big Mike has the throttle wide open as he waits to rumble thru Bedford.
1/87th scale John B is on duty at Bedford Tower and has lined the switches for BP-41 to head into Empire City.
BP-41 comes thru the Empire City reverse curve with the flanges on the 86' boxcars squealing in protest.
BP-41 comes back into Bedford and will cross over to Main 3 to access the Bedford Park lead and Ford Plant.
1/87th scale Big Mike shoves BP-41 back onto the Bedford Park lead with the transfer caboose still attached. Hmm. The BP-41 caboose is usually left on the main. A mistake by new conductor 1/87th scale Robert R? Let's see.
1/87th scale John B has come down from the tower to see what's going on with this move. Conductor Robert  R explains that by employing the Bedford Park Yard switcher BP-1 can work Bedford Park without clogging the mainline like we used to. We never did it like that before, but it sounds good to me replies John B.
The Bedford Park Yard crew happy to be running their engine pulls this pair of empty APRR 40' boxcars from American Hardware Supply for their next PCCM assignment.
The BPY Switcher shoves into the Ford steel track to pick up a pair of empty Evans coil cars that will go back to Kings Port Steel in a future PCCM.
The BPY switcher pulls into BP Yard to get out of the way of BP-41 working the Ford Plant on the other side of Bedford Park.
BP-41 pulls three empty 60' boxcars from the Ford Plant. The trio will head back to ACME Auto Parts on the KPD in a future PCCM.
A PRR 86' boxcar from ACME Auto Parts and two APRR 86' boxcars from Ideal Auto Parts are shoved into the Ford Plant.
BP-41 pulls out of the Ford Plant with three empty 60' boxcars and two loaded auto racks.
The BPY crew shoves the other empties and caboose onto the rear of BP-41 and gives conductor Robert R a hearty thanks for getting them into the PCCM 63 action.
1/87th scale Big Mike once again has the throttles wide open and waits for the GEs to load and pick up speed as BP-41 heads back to Terminal Yard.
BP-41 includes seven virtual ops cars that will be going to their next destinations in a future PCCM. 1/87th scale conductor Robert R is inside his shiny PC caboose filling out his paperwork happy his idea for a new more efficient move for BP-41 was accepted by the old heads.*
BP-41 arrives at Terminal Yard.
1/87th scale Big Mike has parked the engines in the engine terminal hoping never to run them again. Can't guarantee that as these two BB U Boats actually run very well and I like the looks of them.
We'll cut it here today with more engine terminal shenanigans from 1/87th scale Wet Willie. Alco Joe has been called for EC-1 and there isn't an Alco in sight. We'll see how this works out tomorrow.
Be sure to follow the action on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad

*The switching and caboose move for BP-41 actually came to me
when posting PCCM 62. Better late than never considering Ralph and I started the first PCCM on 02/03/2016!*

Thanks for reading!!
See ya tomorrow!!

P.C.C.M. 63 / NYCTL Part 3 / Train LI-2 Arrives

Greetings All,

The 63rd Penn Central Car Movements Series resumes today!

Today the NYCTL will start receiving, sorting and delivering cars that have come from PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

Penn Central Train LI-2 from Selkirk is barreling thru Empire City towards Bedford and Terminal Yard. Sure looks like 1/87th scale PC Ralph at the throttle!
The F7A-GP30-GP40-GP40 lash up is looking sharp as it passes Bedford Tower. Tower operator 1/87th scale John B is busy tonight threading what has become known as the Bedford Needle.
LI-2 rumbles down Main 2 towards Terminal Yard while Train LS-1 to Indianapolis via Selkirk waits on Main 3. The 6557 was the only U Boat to receive the red P heralds.

Train LI-2 passes LS-1

LI-2 arrives at Terminal Yard
LI-2 continues into the yard environs on arrival track 8A
The engines have been cut from the train and head into the engine facility for refueling.
The Yard Job crew has prepared their cool looking PC Switch List that came my way courtesy of 1:1 PC Ralph.
The Yard Job is all ex PRR equipment today. Below they are coupling onto LI-2's ex NYC caboose.
The ex NYC bay window caboose is shoved into the caboose track.
Transfer cabooses have been assigned for Trains EC-1, far right, and BP-41 with the 86' PRR boxcar. The Yard Job has placed the LIRR block from LI-2 on track #7 as it continues working the LI-2 consist on track #8.
Three "Hot" 86' behemoths loaded with auto parts from ACME and IDEAL will head out shortly for the Ford Plant in Bedford Park on Train BP-41.
Train EC-1 gets a block of six reefers from C&P Restaurant Supply for Ralph's Grocery Warehouse in Empire City.
The Long Island block is shoved onto the head end of EC-1 for interchange with the LIRR at the Empire Belt's North Side Yard.
The Yard Job works the last two cars from LI-2 shoving them up track 8 towards Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage.
57' EL Reefer #5034 loaded with restaurant supplies from C&P Restaurant Supply and 50' BAR Reefer #7574 loaded with baked goods from Freihofer's Bakery are spotted at Terminal Warehouse & Cold Storage.
We'll cut it here for today with 1/87th scale Big Mike and Robert R called for Train BP-41 and Big Mike voicing his displeasure about the assigned engines. More on that tomorrow.
Be sure to follow the action on
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

P.C.C.M. 63 / NYCTL Part 2

Greetings All

Welcome back to our 63rd Penn Central Car Movement!

We'll wrap up the NYCTL's outbound portion today and dispatch Penn Central Train NV-3 to Selkirk with freight cars for PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

We start at the newly moved and mocked up Pier 16 Grain Silos with a Terminal Yard Industries Job pulling three APRR and two EBRR covered hoppers loaded with grain for the Cargill Plant in Rock Ridge NJ on the APRR.
The covered hoppers run past Terminal Warehouse and Cold Storage and the T.O.F.C track towards Terminal Yard where they'll be spotted for the Yard Job to block into train NV-3..
The Yard Job has coupled onto the covered hoppers and will shove them into the Rock Ridge Yard block.
The Yard Job is now working the T.O.F.C track pulling a trio of T.O.F.C cars destined for Williams Yard in Kings Port NY on the KPD.
The Yard Job with three TOFC cars in tow will now begin to build train NV-3 on Track#8 due to the trains 28 car length.
The Rock Ridge Yard block is pulled out of track #6.
And is shoved back into track #8 to couple onto the West Mill block which includes a gondola of scrap for Sal's Salvage, a PC boxcar of Rheingold Beer for Reynolds Beverage, a B&M RBL for Blue Ribbon Flour and six coal hoppers for Kings Port Steel..
The 9999 tacks an ex NYC bay window caboose onto NV-3. Those two coal hoppers are going to Corning Glass Works on the KP&W.
The power is called for NV-3
The engines have coupled on. The brake test is completed and it's time to go.
NV-3 heads out of Terminal Yard.
NV-3 meets an inbound TV Train at Bedford NY.
NV-3 passes Bedford Tower minus tower operator 1/87th scale John B. With NV-3's 3:00 AM departure time 1/87th scale John B theoretically should be home in his 1/87th scale bed.
The five GP30's muscle NV-3 over the Vanderbilt Bridge and onto the High Line.

NV-3 comes thru Empire City five engines strong
and twenty eight cars long.

Next stop Selkirk!!!
That wraps up the NYCTL's outbound portion of PCCM 63.
Be sure to check out the action on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division
and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

PCCM 63 will resume next weekend.
