Penn Central Car Movements #76 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 1 / The Outbound Cycle Begins

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #76

Once again this will be a three layout virtual op with my New York Central Train Layout interchanging freight cars with 1:1 PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

We open at the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard in Empire City where the E.B.R.R. trainmen are dealing with a full yard and local industries that need their outbound freight cars pulled.

The Empire Belt guys get together early in the morning and PC Ralph (in PC green) along with his trusty brakeman/conductor (in the light blue coveralls) get the Morning Industrial Job assignment with E.B.R.R. GP30s 2160 and 2161 as their power.

The Morning Industrial Job (MIJ) pulls out of North Side Yard passing the Hohman Ave Tower. Rock Island boxcar #35062 is  empty and is going to Drywell Inks for it's next P.C.C.M. load.

The caboose has been dropped and the MIJ is working the east side industries. The RI boxcar has been shoved into Gervais Pipe and Fitting to pull two E.B.R.R. gondolas loaded with stainless steel pipe for Tropicana in Rock Ridge NJ.

The E.B.R.R. gondolas are shoved to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse to pull empty B&M RBLs 105, 109 and 110 that will head back to Merrimack NH per car instructions for their next P.C.C.M. loads. 

Still working the east side three empty PC covered hoppers are pulled from Empire City Cargill for their next P.C.C.M. loads. 

Now over at Neal's Lumber & Hardware we see one of Sir Neal's customers has knocked down the power pole and PC Ralph has definitely read his switch list as he pulls empty PC boxcar #77047 for it's next P.C.C.M. load.

PC Ralph has coupled the PC boxcar up to the RI boxcar needed at Drywell Inks and heads west to access the midtown industries to the right.

First stop is Prestage Gear to pick up this NYC Early Bird boxcar loaded with gears for Laroche Cycle in Kings Port NY.

The MIJ is now at Red Wing Milling pulling a NYC covered hopper loaded with flour for Freihofer's Bakery in Rock Ridge NJ.

The covered hopper and Early Bird boxcar are shoved back to  Empire City Caterpillar to couple up to PC depressed flatcar 766023 loaded with a loaner excavator for Sal's Salvage in West Mill NY. Good luck getting that back!

Last but not least the MIJ shoves back to Empire Produce to pull empty BAR 5226 and LV 7120 for their next P.C.C.M. loads.

1/87th scale PC Ralph has the Morning Industrial Job back together and heads west passing the Hohman Ave Tower. Note that empty PC 77047 and RI 35062 are tucked in behind the engines.

Now working the west side the MIJ pulls two empty SRR bulkhead flats from City Pallet for their next P.C.C.M. loads.

The switch work is completed and the Morning Industrial Job heads back towards North Side Yard.

PC Ralph brings the MIJ into North Side Yard on track #2.

The two empty SRR bulkheads are pulled off the inbound MIJ and pulled out of yard towards Hohman Ave.

The empty SRR bulkheads are spotted at Empire City Caterpillar for their next P.C.C.M. loads. 

PC Ralph reclaims his caboose and heads back to the yard.

We'll cut it here for today with the MIJ back in the yard.

We'll pick it up tomorrow starting with the Long Island RR making it's daily transfer run to North Side Yard.
