Penn Central Car Movements #75 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 2/ The Outbound Cycle Continues

Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #75!!

Our three layout virtual op featuring PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR interchanging freight cars with my New York Central Train Layout continues today.

We open up at Terminal Yard with 1/87th scale yard job engineer Big Mike letting Robert R know he'll get right on digging out another "shutdown car" from the recently arrived Fast 50 auto parts train.
1/87th scale Kar Knocker locates the "right away"needed car.
1/87th scale Robert R departs with the one car BP-41B.
Another expensive one car emergency run rolls thru Bedford towards the Bedford Park Ford Plant.
1/87th scale Robert gets to work pulling empty EBRR 67356 and APRR 86027 from Ford track #1.
The non P.C.C.M. "shutdown car" is spotted and another assembly line shutdown is averted. For now...
Train BP-12C takes the two empty 86'ers towards Terminal Yard.
BP-12C enters Terminal Yard.
1/87th scale Robert R has left the yard caboose light and Big Mike in the SD9 "Cadillacs" starts getting the yard in order.
A few hours later 1/87th scale Alco Joe gets called for the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27. The engine hostler must be trying to get on his good side as today's BT-27 power is an FA2-leased CBQ F3As and a GP20.
The four units ease down the grade on track#1 to access T&R Gravel.
BT-27 has shoved into Hudson Coal and pulls out EL boxcar #73510 loaded with bagged iron ore for Port Owen Brick and four APRR ballast hoppers for the APRR MOW Dept.
The work at T&R Gravel done 1/87th scale Alco Joe brings BT-27 into the Bedford Industrial Area.
First stop is Neubaum's Coffee & Tea Importers to pick up IC boxcar #30130 loaded with imported tea for Cavendish Fine Foods.
Next stop is the Hostess-Wonder Bread Plant to pick up AP 50' boxcar 58279 loaded with baked goods for C&P Restaurant Supply.
Last stop for BT-27 is University Millwork where PC 50' boxcar #360158 loaded with cabinets for Zenith gets pulled.
With the switch work done the engines are uncoupled from the train.
1/87th scale Alco Joe gets the green signal and brings the engines forward to cross onto the mainline.
After the run around move BT-27 is now back together with the GP20 in the lead.
BT-27 arrives back at Terminal Yard.
The engines are cut from the train and head into the engine terminal.
We'll end it here for today with Alco Joe bringing his engines to the fuel rack.
We'll close it out tomorrow with the yard job building the outbound trains and getting those trains dispatched to Selkirk.

Be sure to catch the action on
PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

A rail traffic bulletin has been issued from Rock Ridge Yard. Severe weather has caused power outages with downed trees and other storm debris blocking the A.P.R.R. Right Of Way. We hope to have the AP.R.R. back online shortly.

Thanks for watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    West Mill out.

The big auto parts cars are being moved quickly today! Neat surprise for local railfans to see the CBQ F3As in consist! The nicely painted A.P.R.R. 86 ft. boxcar and ballast hoppers really caught my eye! Sorry to hear about the blockage of the A.P.P.E. ROW! West Mill can send a big hook down that way as neeed.

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

The APRR is back up and running! We thank the crews for getting everything ready and are awaiting with anticipation to receive freight from the consignees on the N.Y.C.T.L.

The Ford Plant must be humming with all of these ‘emergency’ and ‘rush’ freight orders. Time and money sometimes are a necessary evil, but the end result is to keep the customer happy, which the N.Y.C.T.L. prides itself in keeping everyone happy!
