Penn Central Car Movements #91 Part 7 / Conclusion of Virtual Op

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #91!!!

It's time to close out the inbound portion today as we make the final deliveries and interchange of the freight traffic from 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

We start with the Bedford Park Yard job pulling two empty NYC 50' double door boxcars from All City Storage.

Next the BPY Job spots another pair of gondolas with steel coils at the Ford Plant.

The Alco S4 pulls three empty auto parts boxcars from the Ford siding for return to ACME Auto Parts in Mayfield NY.

The BPY Job is ready to depart Bedford Park Yard for Terminal Yard as Train BP-12.

The BP-12 heads to Terminal Yard.

Train BP-12 rolls into Terminal Yard.

Big Mike and Kar Knocker assist in the quick turnaround at Terminal Yard to quench the Ford Plant's voracious appetite for auto parts.

Train BP-41 heads to Bedford Park Yard with cars for the Ford Plant and All City Storage.

The BP-41 arrives in the cozy confines of Bedford Park.

The 8598 does a runaround move.

AP boxcar #58260 loaded with overflow merchandise from Three Amigos Warehouse in Rock Ridge NJ is shoved into the All City Storage siding.

Three auto parts cars from IDEAL Auto Parts are shoved into the Ford Plant siding and the assembly line will keep on rolling.

The Bedford Park Yard crew has completed its PCCM work and ties down in the yard.

Meanwhile over in Empire City Jimmy Alco brings LIRR Train MA-3 into North Side Yard as the EBRR trainmen inspect the incoming train.

Jimmy Alco rolls slowly down track #2 and couples onto the freight cars going to Long Island industries.

Jimmy Alco has shoved his train out of the yard and comes down the main to collect his conductor and caboose.

Engineers Jimmy Alco, PC Ralph and Sir Neal comment on the amount of traffic in PCCM 91 as conductor John collects the waybills from the LIRR conductor.

Jimmy Alco is back in the cab and ready to collect his caboose and leave town as Train MA-4. Agreements between the EBRR and LIRR allow for the LIRR to deliver and pull freight cars from North Side Yard.

Train MA-4 crosses the Empire City viaduct with two cars from the Atlantic Pacific RR and four cars from the Kings Port Division on the headend.

Long Island Train MA-4 heads for home.

It's a wrap. Put it in the books!!

Be sure to follow the action on Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division.

PCCM 91 Recap: The NYCTL moved a total of seventy three PCCM cars in this series. Thirty cars were moved during the outbound portion and forty three cars during the inbound portion. Several cars were featured in both portions as they traveled empty from one location to another.

New Industries for New Traffic: The appliance dealer in Empire City and TOFC ramp made their initial appearances this series. So far they look to be good additions for increased traffic and will add the newly established Water Street Job to handle the additional train movements.

Last but definitely not least! The EBRR Local has been dispatched to the west side storage track to pick up BAR 40' boxcar #5226 that was constructively placed here in PCCM 91 Part 5.

The ECL hauls the BAR 40'er towards Ralph's Grocery Warehouse after being informed they could now receive the car.

A now empty EBRR 50' boxcar #358160 is pulled from the siding for its next PCCM load.

BAR boxcar #5226 loaded with packaged meals and spirits from Cavendish Food & Spirits is delivered to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse closing out this virtual op.

There was no way I could leave a BAR State of Maine Products boxcar languishing in the west side storage track!

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See you soon!!!

The final post of the series features turnarounds of two trains! The BP-12/ BP-41 and MA-3/ MA-4 op are classics on the N.Y.C.T.L.! y the way, the blue EBRR cars are very eye catching. I'm always pleased to run blue EBRR boxcar #608279 on the KPD! 73 cars moved on your layout in this series! All of that work was enjoyable to follow! Thank you for getting those Cavendish Fine English packaged meals to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse in a timely fashion! The freeze dried haggis and blood pudding would probably keep, but who wants to risk it!?!

Thank you very much Ralph!!! This was another fine virtual op and you know like I do the State of Maine was not happy with the Penn Central. For the record the NYCTL moved the 73 PCCM cars. I believe the KPD moved 75!

It’s a wrap! That was one of our largest amount of freight cars handled between all three railroads. Nice touch at the end with the long lost and left out box car. As they say “Save and a beauty”! All three of your yards were very busy getting cars moved. Great job Sir John!
