Penn Central Car Movements #85 / N.Y.C.T.L. Part 6 / The Empire Belt Delivers!

 Greetings All,

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #85!!!

The inbound portions of this virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight trains with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR continues today.

We open up today in the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard in Empire City NY. PC Ralph has coupled his two U23Cs onto the cars brought in yesterday on Train EC-1 to start blocking the cars for the Morning Industrial Job that serves the local industries. He confers with senior engineer Sir Neal who will run the MIJ prior to starting.

PC Ralph has the MIJ built and ready to go as Sir Neal couples conductor John's caboose onto the train.

Caboose #1604 is coupled up to IC boxcar #30130 loaded with soda from Woodstock Hills All Natural Soda in Bloomberg NY. The car is consigned to Ralph's Grocery Warehouse. It is constructively placed near the yard office as heavy inbound traffic has Ralph's three car siding capacity maximized.

The MIJ heads onto the Empire City Secondary Track

The first stop for the MIJ is Empire City Cargill. Three AP covered hoppers loaded with barley from the large Rock Ridge NJ Cargill are shoved into the siding along with a Cargill covered hopper loaded with grain from Empire Grain in West Mill NY.

A P&LE gondola loaded with pipe for the Hudson Valley Ag Co Op is picked up from Gervais Pipe & Fitting.

Empty P&E boxcar #3638 is pulled from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse. The ECPD are glad to see it go and can now turn their attention to a large pizza.

Spotted at Ralph's Grocery Warehouse are APRR boxcars #60382 and #60394 loaded with paper goods from Marcal and an HRC boxcar loaded with baked goods from Freihofer's Bakery.

Empty APRR gondolas #8260, #8279 and #8294 are spotted at Gervais Pipe & Fitting for their next PCCM loads

The MIJ is now working the midtown siding and EL 57' reefer #5034 is spotted at Empire Produce for its next PCCM load.

A pair of SRR bulkheads are spotted at Empire City Caterpillar for their next PCCM loads.

Conductor John is actually paying attention today and coordinates with senior engineer Sir Neal on some MIJ car rearrangements placing the empty P&E #3638 from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse behind the PC boxcar.

The MIJ is now working the west side and Sir Neal is shoving this cut towards Superior Furniture and Reliable Machine Company.

Empty P&E boxcar #3638 is spotted at Reliable Machine Company for its next PCCM load. The EBRR is the Efficient Belt RR today!

PC boxcar #360158 loaded with console TVs from Zenith is spotted at Superior Furniture.

Now working the west side long sidings AP boxcars #4035 and #4182 are pulled from Moore & Co loaded with imported electronics for IDEAL Auto Parts. PC boxcar #77047 gets pulled from City Pallet loaded with pallets for Woodstock Hills Soda.

After clearing the siding PC boxcar #104478 loaded with new 55 gallon drums from Amalgamated Container Corp (ACCO) is spotted at Drywell Inks.

Empty APRR boxcars #60327 and #60358 are spotted at City Pallet for their next PCCM loads.

A NYC Pacemaker boxcar loaded with contracted sewing machine and wire twister parts from Quality Fabrications is spotted at Moore & Company alongside a non PCCM Empire Belt boxcar.

Senior engineer Sir Neal has the MIJ back together.

The MIJ heads back to North Side Yard

We'll cut it here for today with the Morning Industrial Job returning to North Side Yard.

We'll close out the NYCTL Inbound portion of PCCM 85 tomorrow with a short blog entry highlighting our final inbound train, the LI-2 from Selkirk, arriving on the layout and being interchanged with the Long Island RR.

Be sure to catch the action on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Yes, it looks like business is very good in Empire City! I think the EB should stand for Everyone’s Busy! I think I counted 14 moves by the MIJ this morning! Great work by the entire EB crew!

Acknowledge the dispatch and work of the MIJ

    West Mil out.

"Empire Belt Efficiency!" seems like a great slogan to stencil on the side of the line's rolling stock! The EBBR was center state with multiple deliveries including set outs for the next PCCM! I really like the camera's vantage point in the first video featuring the MIJ with the city in the background. The Turnip Twaddlers are safely stored in Ralph's Grocery Warehouse so everyone can relax about P&E boxcar #3638! Its always a pleasure to follow the Empire Belt!
