Penn Central Car Movements #74 / NYCTL Part 7 / Conclusion of Op

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #74!!


The three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and 
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.
concludes today.


We start our concluding installment with the Long Island Railroad heading past T&R Gravel on their way to Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard in Empire City as part of a daily interchange of freight cars.

Of note is EL boxcar 73510 being loaded with bagged iron ore for a new industry on PC Ralph's Kings Port Division, the Port Owen Brick Company.
The Long Island RR Alcos head over the Empire City High Line.
The L.I.R.R. Transfer arrives at North Side Yard.
1/87th scale Jimmy Alco has parked his engines next to the yard office and is greeted by the E.B.R.R. train men. After exchanging waybills 1/87th scale Jimmy Alco will take the Alcos on a runaround move to collect today's outbound cars for the L.I.R.R. 
1/87th scale Jimmy Alco couples up his engines to the block of freight cars heading for Long Island RR served industries. PC gondola 288673 is loaded with storage tanks from A.C.C.O. going to West Chemical. GM&O is headed for Pilgrim State Hospital with new metal bed frames from Quality Fabrications.
A pair of NYC double door boxcars loaded with Zenith televisions are heading to the B. Gertz Warehouse in Jamaica NY.
1/87th scale Jimmy Alco brings the L.I.R.R. train over the Empire City viaduct as he heads for home. 
Over at Terminal Yard 1/87th scale Big Mike has been called for Extra 6109. Kar Knocker has given it the OK and it's time for our last train of P.C.C.M. 74 to move out.
Extra 6109 departs Terminal Yard for T&R Gravel with four A.P.R.R. ballast hoppers and a PRR focal orange caboose.
Extra 6109 has uncoupled from the hoppers and is working the T&R Gravel siding.
The empty A.P.R.R. ballast hoppers are spotted for loading.
EL boxcar 73510 is re-spotted for continued loading. The short train heading back to Terminal Yard allows for it to be shoved back  with the caboose leading to protect the shove.
Arriving back at Terminal Yard 1/87th scale Big Mike shoves AP 9416 loaded with ballast for the Kings Port Division and an L.I.R.R. hopper with ballast for the L.I.R.R. MOW Dept over the weigh in motion scale.
We'll close it out here with 1/87th sale Big Mike bringing the GP20s into the engine terminal.
Put it in the books!!!!

Penn Central Car Movements #74 / NYCTL Part 6 / Train EC-1 and the Empire Belt RR Takeover

1/87th scale Alco Joe and Conductor Murray are called for Train EC-1, a daily transfer run from Terminal Yard to the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard consisting of freight cars for Empire City industries and cars for interchange with the Long Island Railroad.


EC-1 rolls thru Bedford

EC-1 arrives at North Side Yard.
1/87th scale Alco Joe is greeted by the Empire Belt trainmen.
1/87th scale conductor Murray assists in the reclaiming of his transfer caboose and LV boxcar #66392 which is making it's first virtual ops revenue run. 
Heading out of the yard with LV 66392 behind the caboose for easy drop off at the Bedford Park Yard lead
LV boxcar 66392 loaded with bagged cement from Boom's Ready Mix is dropped on the Bedford Park Yard lead for delivery to American Hardware Supply as conductor Murray waves goodbye.
1/87th scale Alco Joe brings the EC-1 engines and caboose back into Terminal Yard.
1/87th scale Robert R spots the LV 662392 at American Hardware Supply.
Over at Terminal Yard 1/87th scale PC Ralph, senior engineer Sir Neal and conductor John formulate their game plan.
After a couple of hours blocking the inbound cars from EC-1 the Morning Industrial Job is ready to go on track #3 while cars for interchange with the LIRR sit on track #1.
1/87th scale PC Ralph brings the M.I.J. onto the industrial running track. B&M 50' RBLs 105, 109 & 110 loaded with soup and canned goods from Habitant Soup are sitting on yard track 1 constructively placed awaiting notification from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse that have unloaded the three boxcars that are on their way in the M.I.J.
First stop is Gervais Pipe to pull P&LE and EBRR gondolas loaded with pipe for the Hudson Valley Ag Coop via the KP&W's Williams Yard.  
Next move is to spot these three boxcars at Ralph's Grocery Warehouse. PC 229046 is loaded with cake mix from Blue Ribbon Flour, RI 35062 is loaded with grocery products from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse in Davenport Iowa and PC 360063 is loaded with packaged meals from Cavendish Fine Foods.  
A pair of Evans coil coaches loaded with steel coils are spotted at Gervais Pipe & Fitting completing the work on the east side. 
The M.I.J. GP30s  are now shoving back into the midtown siding.
Beings spotted at Empire Produce is BAR 5226 loaded with Blueberries from Circle B Farms in Caribou Maine and LV 7120 loaded with fresh produce from Tarantino Foods in Buffalo NY.
1/87th scale PC Ralph has the M.I.J back together and starts heading west. 
The M.I.J comes over the Empire City viaduct
After several moves PC 104478 loaded with new 55 gal drums from A.C.C.O. is spotted at Drywell Inks.
The west side work is done and the M.I.J heads for home.
We'll cut it here for today with 1/87th scale PC Ralph bringing the Morning Industrial Job back into North Side Yard.
We'll pick it up tomorrow with a short blog post featuring the L.I.R.R. transfer run and close it out with the dispatch of Extra 6109 from Terminal Yard.

Penn Central Car Movements #74 / Part 5 / The Inbound Cycle Continues

Welcome back to Penn Central Car Movements #74!!
The three layout virtual op with my N.Y.C.T.L. interchanging freight cars with PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and 
Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific RR.

We open up with Train BP-41 running from Terminal Yard towards Bedford Park Yard with another block of hot auto parts cars.
The four car block from the Kings Port Division are brought into the Bedford Park Yard where 1/87th scale Robert R will perform another runaround move to get the cars into the yard.
1/87th scale Robert R has Bedford Park in good shape. 
Five cars of auto parts are ready when called by the Ford Plant.
PC boxcar 272242 is spotted at American Hardware Supply for it's next P.C.C.M. load as 1/87th scale Robert R goes off duty.
The following day 1/87th scale Robert R is back on duty bright and early at Bedford Park Yard getting the yard sorted.
First stop once again is the Ford Plant as a trio of empty auto parts cars get pulled out of the siding. 
Now coupled up to the caboose and auto parts cars from the yard the Alco S4 pulls out onto the Bedford Park Yard lead to clear the switch into the Ford Plant siding.
PC /TOC, KP&W and NYC 60' cars with auto parts from ACME in Mayfield NY get shoved into the Ford siding along with an EBRR 60'er with auto parts from IDEAL in Rock Ridge NJ.
1/87th scale Robert R leaves Bedford Park and heads for Terminal Yard with train BP-12.
Upon arrival at Terminal Yard the S4 rolls into track #4 and couples right up to another set of hot auto parts cars for the Ford Plant. 
The Terminal Yard yard job quickly pulls the empties off the S4.
1/87th scale Robert R has Train BP-41 ready to go but first he and Kar Knocker get an atta boy from the yard master and District Sup't for their work expediting these hot shutdown cars and keeping the Ford people off their backs.
BP-41 is now on the Bedford Secondary heading back to Bedford Park Yard.
Meanwhile we see Train TY-2 from Selkirk crossing the Empire City viaduct as it heads for Terminal Yard.

The Bedford Needle is threaded!


TY-2 arrives in Terminal Yard.
After arriving with Train BP-41 1/87th scale Robert R has Bedford Park Yard in good order and is ready to deliver these rolling warehouses to the Ford Plant when called for.
Turning our attention now to Terminal Yard, 1/87th scale Kar Knocker has completed his inspection and releases the train to the yard crew. 
Four empty APRR ballast hoppers sit on track #3 awaiting delivery to T&R Gravel as the yard engine puts together Train EC-1, a daily transfer freight to the Empire Belt RRs North Side Yard.
Train EC-1 continues to grow with freight cars for Empire City industries and for interchange with the Long Island RR.
The yard job shoves a cut of four T.O.F.C. cars from the Williams Yard Ramp up track #8.
The T.O.F.C. cars are spotted at the Terminal Yard ramp for unloading.
Over at the engine terminal 1/87th scale engine hostler Wet Willie starts to get the power out of the engine terminal. 
We'll close it out here with 1/87th scale Wet Willie getting the engines coupled on and 1/87th scale Kar Knocker taking over from here to get the trains ready for departure.
